Might as well rest seventeen players so we can clean up Essendon or North next week. Tomorrow we will find out if Chris Scott is the smartest operator in the business or if our domination over the Hawks (and the finals) is over.

Massive game and I'm looking forward to finding out which way things turn out. But when I look at how the Dogs, Saints and Pies are going it will be hard for me to be too disappointed. The Cats are doing things right these days and even our losing seasons seem to have us heading in the right direction. Not confident, but hopefull.

GO CATS.

Joel Selwood wins his third best and fairest ahead of Tom Hawkins and Mitch Duncan.

Not bad by Duncan. Need him to kick on more next year. He is getting better but he should be pushing for All Australian selection by now and he hasn't quite gotten to that level yet. Break out son break out!

Cats could be turning into the major player at this years trade table with Varcoe, Christensen and Lonergan all out there for discussion. Bring in Mitch Clark and a couple of decent draft picks and hopefully not too much damage is done. Will miss Bundy, Varcoe not so much and Lonergan has about 1 season left so a draft pick around mid to late 2nd round might get it done (considering he was in the 40 man AA squad). Interesting times!

Yep Bulldogs have killed that trade now and left a backline that could have used an experienced KPD who was in the 40 man AA squad.

How do they treat Griffen now that he was ready to walk - surely there is still a loyalty issue to address for him to remain?

Depends if his sole reason was he didnt want to play under that coach. Now there might not be a problem.

Yeah that will be interesting to see if Griffen still wants to leave or whether he will stay. I imagine either way he wont be the Captain next year
