It is the Government's intention to make a regulation to clarify the definition of tournament poker and to ensure that tournament poker that does not involve gambling is not an unlawful game.

Whats wrong with a buy in poker tournament though? Making it free only will kill the industry and wont get me playing, ever.

Aren't the ones at footy clubs free anyway? They were last time I played in them. That was about 5 years ago though. Winners qualified for bigger tournaments.
