Clubs could also just go to the SAAFL website and use the names and numbers from the previous weeks A and B Grade games. Would probably cover 80% of the players, bar the changes. This is probably better than nothing!

We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Big result. Robbie Fraser back for Districts in a few weeks too! Heard hes been drinking his way across Europe and has forgotten how to run though.

Good work to Ramblers, I honestly didn't think they would get so close to Districts this time after we had the wood on them for 3 and a bit quarters last week.

Modbury in a form hole, saw it coming. If they are not careful could slip out the 5 in the coming weeks.

phos have some very difficult games coming up also. Scotch is on the improve, massive game vs shocs this week. cant really see modbury missing out, but 2 spots in top 5 up for grabs out of phos, shoc, scotch and PNU. Also so dale lewis kick 4 on the weekend for PNU. SHould be an interesting next few weeks in Div 2!

Districts will be ok, No Lynch, Clarke, Nurton against Seaton and thats was Seatons best side by all reports.
Just a hiccup!
Districts may also lose Clarke, Christofis and Tosold this week cause of the state game, what a joke that is. Should be a bye.
Nick Egan has started training again at Districts so another big inclusion in a week or so.

RE Seaton and Pt Districts forwards.

Obvioulsy it looks like these two teams will play up in Div 1 next year. How are their power forwards going to go up against the premium Div 1 defenders. Seaton struggled last year to kick competitive scores and Pt District didn't seem to have the cattle. Due to them playing on Div 2 defenders this year, might find it hard to deal with the likes of Spencer, Pitt, Stevens, McGregor next year. If D Mitchell from Modbury can kick bags this year and not regulary get a kick in Div 1 last year, i reckon it backs up my argument.

good point. Thats where prob most sides that come up struggle, that they dont have enough power forwards. But districts problem in div 1 is a quality ruckman, theyve never really had one.
If Christofis, Egan and Peucker (he better play another year!) hang around districts will be competitive next year as will Seaton if they hang on to their big fellas. Will be interesting.

Districts struggle last year up forward, have rectified that this year with their recruiting. If you look at their goal kickers 4 out of top 5 are new to the club.

They had a really good ruckman last year beat most of the Div 1 rucks, have only seen him in a couple games this year though, not sure what's going on there. Probably need a springy ruckman + brute strength ruckman. With the new centre circle rule you need a good leap for the centre bounce, but these guys are getting killed around the ground!!

Scott Hodges might want to shut his mouth in future. Was at the Modbury V Seaton game, Hodges was getting into their full forward about being a fat pig and can't play football from the coaches box, their full forward then went on to kick 7 goals after 1/4 time and basically win them the game. After the game he gave Hodges the finger and Hodges replied with 'We'll meet again in n finals and it'll be a different story you fat f**k'. Not great to see the coach do that and also fire up the opposition player to win the game. As for the result, that the second time Modbury have beaten Seaton this year so i wouldn't be so cocky Scotty.

Scotty obviously hasnt taken a good look at his own full forward lately

I saw this loss coming the second I saw the paper LAST sunday. Seaton are a bloody good team, but the one thing they lack and IMO could be their downfall come September is RESPECT for the opposition.

I'm very surprised that a coach like Scotty Hodges, who I rate very highly and who has played at the highest level, would allow his players to take such a mentality on the field. After beating Port last week, Seaton would have thought they had Modbury in the bag, they would have been that cocky..the same lack of respect they showed Pembroke and us for most of the game. if they're not careful, they could find themselves suffering another year in div 2, which would be a travisty because I believe they really do deserve to be back in div 1.
