does anyone from amatuer league read this stuff??
i know div 7 is low and not important to them but i would like to know their reasoning and thoughts on how they think this is fair for clubs and goal kickers that dont get to play them
some clubs play them twice some 3 times. just doesnt make sense would love to see a response from someone from amateur house cos it does seem very amateur!!!

What's amateur about it?
That's the rules - it's always been the rules regarding forfeits.
It's the luck of the draw in these circumstances.
Yes it sucks, but it works for all comps right across the country.

so a team doesnt make finals by about 3 percent cos they played kuarna twice while someone else plays them 3 times for an aggregate of 800 ponts to 21, cmon surely better way
i can understand if the comp was close but to field 14 players in 2 grades same players should have been marked down as forfiet and should not play!

So what's the better way? One that doesn't disadvantage all parties, while giving the struggling club a chance to stay alive?

A new all time individual SAAFL goal kicking record in one match was set last Saturday (30/6/07) by Adam Barnes of Paralowie when he kicked 32 goals against Kaurna Eagles in Division 7. Barnes kicked 11 goals in the first quarter, then 7, 8 and 6. He has now kicked 90 goals in the 2007 season.

The previous individual record of 26 goals was shared by S Maley of Walkerville (A1) in 1946 and V Camporeale of Seaton Ramblers (A3) in 1961.

Paralowie's score of 51-16 (322) is the 20th highest score kicked in SAAFL since it was formed in 1911.

Is this the first?

Is this an actual rule?

Average losing margin should be applied for a forfeit.

As far as I'm aware, every club has teh right to three forfeits. Way it is in most leagues.

i have heard a rumour about the game between kuarna and paralowie.

apparently at 3/4 time 3 or 4 players from kuarna had had enough of being flogged in 7 quarters of football and just walked off leaving the side with only 11 players to finish the last quarter.

umpires let the game go and now an investigation may be heard about why the umpires didnt call the game off

apparently by the rules they must have 14 on the ground at all times to warrant a game!

only major problem is that the amateur league have dug themselves a hole with the media release of barnes kicking 32

mmmmm interesting
wonder if more will come about from this :?

My guess is nothing will happen as the league don't want to make themselves look like tools!

yes the effort of 14 to try cannot be ? but the logic doesnt seem right why you would keep going with only 14 players!
cant see you guys fielding a team going all the way to clg this week to get belted again like that

They had a few walk off at half time... they only were missing chf x 2 and fp x2 = 14 men.
most of us at Paralowie gave credit to the lads, on Saturday, that stuck it out 8 quarters...

8 quaters is a big effort but still shouldnt have had to come to that. I have been talking to a few players today about getting out to training... they all seem keen but see what happens tonight

Yeah mate if all goes well at Training, I will be playing...

Just looking at the program now, we play Nth Pines - winnable, CLG - very doubtful, Henley - Winnable, Wingfield - Doubtful, Kaurna - Winnable, Nth Pines again - Winnable and Trinity- Doubtful.....
Thats hopfully 4 wins left and maybe sneak one in against Trinity or Wingies so I dont think this game condemns the loser to 2nd bottom.
