Learning that a former work mate lost his long battle with depression and the inner demons he faced. Sad day, the bloke was up against it for some time and although he fought the battle, he lost the ultimate war.

The chap who has passed on worked a little more indirectly with me, but in the same premises.
The two of them had quite a close relationship, both of them confiding in each other about their struggles. I'm not sure I should tell the other one about the other one at this point.....albeit I know he would want to know.

Plus I get attitude, coz its obviously my fault the stock can't get found, and its such an inconvenience to them they have to actually pick an order.

I'm assuming a mate has pulled the pin on you. I'd still be asking for the money, no problem. If he/she says "...but I'm not going..."
I'd be saying "Doesn't matter to me, you're the one who owes me the money for the ticket I purchased for you. Whether you use the ticket is up to you"
