Brisbane had extra salary cap cash for a while then won 3 flags in a row and its been taken away, although I think this was a planned removal. Same should happen to Sydney. They've become more established in Sydney, they've won a couple of flags (and will again this year when they beat Port) and that should be enough to let them walk on their own feet.

I believe the Suns and Giants have a similar time frame as Brisbane did and are aware the extra cash will be gone in a few years time. Suns may have won a flag by then, Giants maybe not.

it does seem a little incongruous that it is all well and and good that we give sydney (and GWS) the COLA as long as they dont get too good. kinda makes a mockery of both the COLA and the response of the other clubs.

if they were bottom, even with Buddy and Tippett, nobody would be caring.

The thing that needs to happen is they just change the COLA so it is a 10% bonus on everyones contract, rather than a 10% addition to the salary cap. That way the extra money is being spent as intended, rather than just allowing them an extra million to go get a gun player.

Give u a hot tip its not cheap living in wa either. The money these guys earn surely the can afford to live anywhere !!

At the end of 2013 you replaced 3 players with Lance Franklin.

They sure need to earn their money.

its also a little disingenuous because it doesnt list the player wages that they got in in that time too. they arent all 70k rookies or whatever (and even if they were thats an extra 10 players @70k or whatever the base wage is)
