Won't get any arguments from me mate, I actually agree with you. Feel sorry for the current committee as it was something that should have been done years ago and as time goes on, its only going to cost more.

Well Armytank it is lucky for your hack of a player Brad Smith that young Warbo is doing a lot better then he was on Saturday after that absolutely DISGRACEFUL act. Without a doubt it was the most dispicable thing i have ever seen in HFL football. I hope he gets scrubbed out of the game for a long time.

We will never agree over the incident so I will not bother arguing because it is pointless.

I am however concerned on the young lads welfare

Sorry Armytank it was just such a horrible and unnecessary thing to happen. He is doing ok. Initially it was thought that his wrist was broken/fractured but this turned out not to be the case. He has quite a large cut on his neck and his jaw seems okay at this stage. He can not remember anything at all of the incident (or much after) and suffered severe concussion.

Since everyone's talking about it - you might as well fill-in everyone else that didn't know what happened.

Lads I saw the incident and it was terrible. Im a proud supporter of the Devils and Im also a great mate of Warbo's. Looking back at the incident I think it was accident. Knowing Brad Smith he does not have a bad bone in his body. It looked like he went to force him across the line and used a little bit to much force. From what I hear he was embarrassed and extremely apologetic.

I think Warbo is extremely lucky not to have broken his neck or even his hand to have gone thru the glass.

Warby will be back on his feet in a week and the club will build on his courage.

I was extremely disappointed with Hare and that other goose that belted Trigger. From what I hear Hare wont be playing for a while.

What about the one who head-butted Brad Burch which required him to get stitches? Is he facing the tribunal? I didnt see if the player got a red card or not.

Thanks luvinfooty, I agree that it was a horrible incident and I hope he recovers quickly.

Gimp - Depending on which club you are from as to the lead up to the incident but the result was that Warbo collided very heavily with the time keepers box at Thunder Park. I will leave it at that.

Thanks Rapper for that unbiased view.

It sounds as if he is "lucky" to come away with the injuries he has, it could have been a lot worse.

Gimp: Like armytank said, you will hear different stories from both sides. But ultimately one of Lofty's B graders (Michael Warburton) was pushed/shoved/bumped (whatever word you wish to use) into the brick wall of the timekeepers box at Ironbank oval, which is a little too close to the boundry line. He hit it with the side of his face/jaw/neck and resulted in him being knocked out and suffered what appeared to be minor fits. When he came too he was taken from the ground on a stretcher, an ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital.

that time keepers box is way too close to the oval. Good to hear the injuries are on the mend and not as bad as they could have been. On brad smith i have never seen him have a real crack at a bloke and doubt that there was any mallice in his actions he is a top bloke and am sure he is glad to know that waurby is ok

Has this site been out of action for a few days? Seems to be a couple of black holes. I think I may have read something about about repairs and renovations happening over the weekend.
Well, what about Cally getting up over Blackwood! And just when I thought they'd move up a rung Maccy got up too. Let's hear it for the under-dogs!!! Great stuff guys!
Missed the Cally game Satdy due to work so can't offer a wrap-up. But Bondy was out along with other key-position players. Also the first time the Eagles have beaten Blackwood. It would've been a good night in the Eagles' nest and the Engine Room must be pleased.

A few comments about Cally's future for what they're worth. At the beginning of the year I had my doubts about their future given the non-local content of their senior side. But after reading up a bit on the mining aspect and the projected growth of the town, Cally might just have a future after all. House prices suddenly rising, many of the 'imports' talking of buying and staying, which will make them all locals when they do. Hopefully they will all breed like rabbits!!!
Might be a real surprise packet in 5 years or less..(there you go, I said it first!)

Have also skimmed over the oval size issue. If the discussion includes Country, then Cally and Milang would be right up there. I reckon the goal to goal line at Cally would be marginally longer but Milang a lot wider. Both grounds superb at this time of year and sad to see Milang not utilized when Maccy gets worse and worse. But all in all, great to see a more balanced comp in Country Div.

And one last thing; the timekeepers' box at Ironbank has always been an accident waiting to happen. I've seen blood spilled in that area before. While it couldn't be compared to the wall at Norwood Oval, a relocation wouldn't go astray.
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

Rapper i ask you "Why would a player headbut an opposition player when the umpire is standing in close proximity"?

I was close to the scene and as normal the retaliator gets caught. I have no doubt he will get a week or 2, but dont kid yourself if you think Burch is an innocent party! So if your in the know how many weeks will Hare get?

As for the match, you were far far too good, and IB have a long way to go to match you over 4 quarters.

In regards to the time keepers box being too close to the boundary line, i dont think its any closer than your concrete boundary line or walls. Incidents of this nature in my time there have been minimal.

Did you see J. Temme sh#t himself when muffy came back to front him, the best he could do was take three steps back and say "sorry"...
For some backing a Melb Cup winner at 125/1 is a dream........for me its a fact !!!

I spoke to one of the guys who is injured @ IB and he claims that Smithy was shaken up pretty badly the whole night but there was video footage of Smithy and Warbo running toward the vicinity of the boundary line and after the contact was made Warbo looks like he looses his grip also, leaving him no chance of stopping in time before the timekeepers box. Just what I was told. The video was played in the clubrooms apparently. Can you confirm this Armytank? Jeff Pistola (young pistol's dad) was in the box when it happened and even he said it was purely an accident. He even watched the video too as he was in the clubrooms until way after presentations.

Regarding ovals and dangerous objects, you could nearly go around all ovals and find a dangerous section that an unfortunate accident can happen. most have brick coaches boxes on the boundary line, the levy at Bridgy, the wall at lofty, the pine fence at blackwood, the concrete steps at nairne, the list goes on.

On a better note, I work with a guy from lofty and he tells me that Warbo is getting better, just hope no more malice is shown next time the two sides meet. Last thing we want to hear about is Smithy's in hospital because he was king hit in the last round. Hope it doesn't turn into a grudge match.

How has John Flo's form been. Has there been any reason that there has been no Ben Gordon on the goals list or best players for Lofty. Is he still playing?
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.
