Yes mate, they are but Steve suffered a pretty serious leg injury nearly a year ago and it's a bit up in the air about whether he even plays again and Michael has a hamstring injury at the moment.

Shake, do you think the Birdwood oval is small??? I would've thought it was one of the bigger ovals in the league.

i won't even try and defend the shape, but Birdwood is the biggest oval we've played on so far this year.. having played on Onkas,Hahndorf,Lobey,Ironbank,Mt.Lofty so far.

Just for interest's sake I did a quick measure using Google Earth

Lobethal: 173 x 125
Birdwood: 156 x 118
Blackwood: 162 x 125
Uraidla: 163 x 105
Onkas: 152 x 105
Ironbank: 130 x 120

Even if there is a plus or minus 5 metre tolerance, it gives a rough idea

Will do the rest later when the boss isn't looking

That would be round I don't think you would find any straight sides on the oval at Ironbank

What these dimension don't do is describe the size/shape of the pockets/flanks. So you can't read too much into them except for an indication on how long or wide an oval is

koutsikas is very speedy although probably wouldnt be very effective on the small confines of ironbank oval.

Lofty vs Ironbank

im tipping lofty in both grades i just reckon the lofty midfield will be too strong and fit, with bigger bodies through the middle of the park with burch trigger and peto. i dont think muirden muffy and williams will be strong enough

Very sneaky TWE! Patience my friend. You'll find out Satdee!

I tried to google earth Bridgewater Oval, and it came back with some cesspool in Afghanistan!! Dirty shantys. I think Osama was there too.

I also Googled Heathfield Oval and saw a couple of mountaineers making the treacherous trek up the slope with a couple of sherpas (who I think was Nipple and Brero).

Who would've thunk Goat Park was the 2nd longest oval in the HFL? Even after all those years of preseason running up and back, up and back, I'm still a fat bastard!
