I reckon i've seen some similar testing to this on the telly - where prominant African Americans were tested (Samuel L Jackson, Condaleeza Rice, amongst others just off the top off my head) and from those tests they were able to determine which African tribe they descend from.
I wonder if I can find the the show I was watching, it was actually quite fascinating.
I think the show was called Finding your Roots.
