So? It's not that pedestrian... Maybe there should be a new rule (in line with the super-sub & power-play rules) "centuries do not count, unless your strike rate is 100" ie- if you score 100 off 101 balls, it's considered pedestrian, & your wicket will be automatically declared taken, due to being too boring to watch...MW wrote:Gilly did it in style as you should against the minnow sides...smashing 120 odd of 90 odd balls not going at a fuking pedestrian rate as Katich did.

5 years or so ago, Katich's strike rate would have been considered good, especially for an opener. Tonight his first 30 odd runs came at a similar rate to gillys, but when Gilly went the tonk, he held one end up, and he was still there at the end, in that climate, after fielding in the sun all afternoon, that in it self was a good effort. If Gilly hadn't been dropped, and Katich scored a ton on the way to a victory, you'd still be winging about him. I'd like to see Jaques in the side, but you can't drop someone who is consistantly scoring runs. Until he fails regullary, get off his back, still what else would you expect from a Westies supporter, haven't ever been at the top long enough to appreciate how hard it is to get there!
