New Senior Coach
The Board and Management of the North Adelaide Football Club is very pleased to announce the appointment of Ken McGregor as our new Club Coach for the next 2 years.
Ken played 152 AFL games for the Adelaide Crows between 1999 and 2008, as well as 83 SANFL League matches for his home club Woodville West Torrens. In 2011 he coached the Glenelg Reserves to a premiership, and was also a League Assistant Coach the same year, finishing fifth. In 2012 he was posted to Canberra in his full time employment as a Political Reporter, where he played 15 matches for the Ainslie Football Club in the NEAFL. In 2013, Ken returned to Adelaide with The Advertiser and took on the role of Senior Coach of the Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL, finishing sixth. As we experienced, his Magpies in 2013 were a very tough team to beat at times, having beaten Norwood, Eagles, Central and North Adelaide in consecutive weeks, and losing to West Adelaide by the smallest margin during this same period.
Ken comes to the Roosters following an exhaustive search for a replacement for Josh Francou who is joining the Sydney Swans Football Club from November. Ken has clearly demonstrated his understanding of the work we have put in over the past 3 years to develop a consistently competitive culture, and where he believes we can further enhance our game style and continue the development of our playing group to ensure we continue to have a strong presence year on year.
Please join us in welcoming Ken and his partner Miriam to our Club. We all look forward to working with Ken and supporting him into 2014 and beyond.
Greg Edwards – CEO
