How many times in the last say 10 years did players not get to the club they wanted through the PSD?

John McCarthy is the only one i can think of. He wanted to go to Richmond, Port beat them to it.
Maybe Hannath last year was training at Melbourne before Freo took him, but there was no guarentee Melbourne were going to take him.

But as far as players who are getting regular games i dont think there has ever been one that didnt get where he wanted

But they run the risk of losing him.
Saints have a pick before the Dogs and they have the salary cap room and are very interested in him.

I would highly doubt they'd be prepared to go to the lengths the Dogs would - $450k for the bloke is over the odds as it is

True but Collingwood probably thought the same about Nick Stevens and look how that ended up.
Plus it would mean the Dogs have to use pick 4 on him or else someone like Melbourne, GWS or the Suns could nab him
I still would have money on him going to the Dogs but it wont just be for their second round pick

Using pick 4 isnt an issue in PSD, most clubs have only one pick anyway.
