Please reply, PM me or message me either via phone or facebook to register your interest for you or any chunks of blokes from the various clubs. Think i have 11 maybes for next Thursdays trial so just looking for 4 more from any club.

KICK OFF WILL BE AT 7.30PM not 6.30 so people dont have to fight traffic and so the minors can train before the game for a while.

Sounds awesome. I have played and/or coached against Flinders over 50 times and would love to attend and should have lots of stuff in storage from the early years I can contribute.

Rather than a bye week perhaps you could play a team from the other division who would be in the same situation. Therefore you would play each team in your division twice for points and you would have two games not for points that are contested against a team from the other division. This would equate to a 10 week minor round and the top 4 from each div could then play in a two week final series 1 v 4, 2 v 3. With the 5th placed div 1 team playing against the Dingoes um oops i mean against the 5th placed div 2 team as a curtain jerker for the GF. Therefore you would have a beautifully balanced 12 week, dual pitch, even in theorey competition....

Let me know at what point i lost you Harry

You lost me at "beautifully balanced". I simply don't see the validity of it (splitting into two, 5 or 6 team, divisions). Why risk an injury to play a match for no points? If there are ample entries then 2 divisions make sense...but any less than 15 teams is not ample. If the divisions are genuinely split on ability when and by who is this determined? And the idea of a 5th in Div 1 vs 5th in Div 2 "curtain jerker for the GF" would be so 1 sided that it beggars belief why it would even be considered. The divisional finals concept is fine as it will keep 8 of the teams playing for longer, and worked ok last season for the Top 8 after the minor round.
By all means continue trying to convince me that two 5 team divisions is a good idea, but I still have not heard a decent argument for. :D

You will need more than 10 teams to make 2 divisions...Crikey! That's only 5 teams per division - so 1 bye every 5 weeks, Mickey Mouse stuff. If you get 16 teams then fair enough.

Agree that more then 10 teams are needed. I would only think about 2 divs with 12 team min but that would be by a vote from the teams. That is also our limit for number of teams at St Marys. We can have 13 if enough teams entered with one team having a bye and a 12 week season playing each other once. The only way to go over that would be 2 - 7 team div's with a bye from each a week and a 12 week season this still allows for 6 games or start a second comp on another night. Unfortunately there is no way to set a third field up to allow 16 teams on one night without shortening games (which I will not do).

I have not yet seen if any nomination forms have been sent in but around 10 teams will be in this season.

Is there nomination forms around the place?
I'm having a meeting with some players next Wednesday, I'll be definitely entering the Na Fianna 2nds in 7 a side & possibly bringing a new team in if we get enough interest.
