GRAND FINAL HAWKS V DOCKERS

Postby daysofourlives » Sat Sep 21, 2013 11:16 pm

A very interesting grand final with very little form between the two teams to go on courtesy of the AFL fixturing.

A workman like win over a depleted dockers in Tassie the only meeting this year. to go with one meeting last year and another Hawks victory.

Maybe the better form guide is Hawks vs Saints during Ross's tenure. I think without looking it up the Hawks were pretty comfortable winners over the saints from 08-11.

I am expecting 90% of the football public to jump on the Docker's wagon much like they did the Eagles 1st Grand Final in 91.
And i expect the same result come 6pm (or whatever ridiculous time the Afl schedules it) this Saturday for 90% of fans.

I think given enough supply the Hawks forwards have the Freo defenders covered.

Anyway it promises to be one of the most intriging Grand Finals in a while.

I'm torn

On one hand, the Hawks deserve it more than anyone. I think Buddy will leave either way so this would be a fitting send off.

But for Freo, I'd love for the Pav to win, I think he's loyal and humble. But that comes with Lyon being a premiership coach and serial pests like Crowley and Ballantyne being premiership players.

As REB said, if Lyon wins it, that game style will become the model by which everyone prepares their teams which makes for a boring spectacle.

So I hope the Hawks win but I think it will be a bit closer than DOOL. I think it'll be Hawks by 11.

I'm not a fan of Ross Lyon. I think Freo has the worst club song known to man. But I wouldn't mind seeing Pav be rewarded for his years of loyalty to that purple band of scrubbers.
Hawthorns guernsey is wee and poo coloured so I struggle to get excited about them. Not a Buddy fan but I reckon Luke Hodge is one of the best captains going around and Clarko is easily one of the top modern day coaches.
So, I really couldn't care who wins or loses. Probably wont watch more than a few minutes here and there of the first half and I will see the result on the evening news.

Not to fussed who wins this one, reckon it can go either way though, reminds me a lot of last years GF, Hawthorn best side of year vs Fremantle best side of September..

Should be a cracking game, reckon Hawks by 21.

If the Hawks were playing the Nazi Party I'd be Goose Stepping. Go Dockers.

I always want the best team of the year to win so a Hawthorn win wouldnt bother me.
On the other hand, I'd like to see Ross Lyon win so he can stick it up the useless filth, and their 'fans', that he used to coach.

Is Jon Ralph all there?
Last night he said it was a game between Lyon, the best coach in the game and Clarkson, the 2nd best coach in the game.

WTF has Lyon done??
I reckon Scott, Longmire, Malthouse might also disagree.

And he also suggested Roughead may get 125 points for a block.
FFS just get him off Fox, maybe Roos can find a role for him

I wouldn't mind seeing the Dockers win, would be great for Pavlich, Barlow, Mundy and Fyfe being guys I love to watch but I think the Hawks will as they have more GF experience and will make up for last years loss. I expect Hodge to stand up like he does in big games and lead his team to victory. I think Roughead, Burgoyne and Birchall will have really good games aswell.

That's strange. You'd think that the white would be more of a clash
with the predominately gold/yellow of the Hawks.

Got told they had to wear white shorts (Hawks got the home strip and brown is too close to purple apparently?).
Purple top doesn't go with white shorts apparently so they are going all white.
