Talk on the national game

I just get annoyed at how reporters make massive stories over nothing.

one little comment or sighting and it ends up front page news, its a joke

Looks like he's ******* himself over. Interested clubs dropping off, and may have to take a substantially lower offer to remain on ANY AFL list.

Obviously interested parties are talking to Richmond about what off-field dramas they would inherit with him, because he's a gun on-field. The only concerns would be having to have a full time carer for him. Most clubs dont want to have to deal with that stuff.

See this is the problem when it comes to trades. Everyone thinks they should get the better end of the deal. When the pros and cons are weighed up in that proposed deal, Richmond are clear winners, when all the bargaining power is with GWS. A straight player swap would be more likely.

You sure you havnt learnt your trading skills from Crows fans.
Martin for Adams and maybe a 2nd round draft swap so Tigers get 19 instead of 29

Dustin Martin, the footballer no one wants. Advantage Richmond. Here is a contract for less than what you were getting paid before.

Or is it a case of the type of footballer everyone wants but not the type of person wanted around your football club. This has bitten him on the backside which makes me giggle

I don't often agree with Richo but i do here, i think Martin has been poorly advised by his management on this occasion, his manager thinks he can get x amount which means his manager can get x amount so he has pushed him into this as it is better financially for them both. Now Martin looks downright stupid. No doubt the kid has got loads of ability and could be something in the future, but the baggage he comes with is what is being questioned and rightly so. Just appreciate that you actually have the opportunity to play this great game of ours, there are many people out there who would love to be in your position, but he probably doesn't even know how to appreciate when he can't even count to 3 (actually he has probably learnt to count to 4 as that is his jumper number).

Reece Conca on the other hand has just signed a 3 year deal and has acknowledged and thanked the football club for giving him the opportunity to play the game he loves. Take a leaf out of his book Dustin!!

Is it a case of getting bad advice, his manager has no other clients.

This will be a good wake up call for him. Pull your head in, wake up to the fact no one has time for people who act like drop kicks, turn into a decent citizen and play footy for the club that has given you every opportunity to do this.

Not sure how much truth to this but I heard on the plane on the way to Melbourne this morning that Dustin Martin got on the piss the night before Richmond's Final against Carlton and was dubbed in by an opposition player and that's when the trouble started.
