Agreed.. he lives for Eastern Park. If he were by some strange miracle to move on i would imagine Smithfield would be in the box seat in PDCA otherwise another comp..

Is he really cousins with Adam Smith?! :?

Ray's a great young lad, he always urges me to go help out at Eastern Park so we can work together, there's been a fair comradery between Smithfield and Eastern Park for about a decade now, yes, he is Adam's cousin.

Haha just asked him myself, didn't realise! Well maybe there is a chance for OTH to pick him up.. handy replacement for Troy Scott i think.. but would he have the balls to leave Eastern Park and then have to return to the den to face the club he loves?

So is it true that PDCA has disaffiliated from SAMCA because they didn't like playing by their rules?
Interesting move if true, be like Norwood pulling out of the SANFL 'cause they changed some of the rules to keep up with the AFL.

I haven't heard that but I'd fully endorse the change. I wouldn't think it would be about the rules, it would have more to do with their organisational skills I'd imagine.

Could be true as i believe there is an association game between the B&L and PDCA on the cards this year. This wouldnt be the case if you are still with SAMCA and are required to play your regular association games. Can't see the players wanting an extra one on top of what you already have

Think the SAMCA wanted to have a carnival type competition much like the Country Carnival during the Week.

I've been pushing for one off association game with the B&L for quite some time, it could be an annual cup thing, could also align juniors to play on the same day.
Back in the 80's we used to travel to Loxton to play the Riverland, it was an excellent atmosphere and the best players made themselves available as it wasn't a chore. In the 90's we used to just have the one game against the Independant's IIRC, once again it attracted the best players and we had a ball.
Sunday cricket is becoming too much of a chore nowadays for some players, it would be great to initiate some rivalry with another competition.

Association games between the B&L and PDCA was also a regular occurence in the 80's. B&L also played once a year against the state U23's

What's it matter to you guys this year, you have to play Adelaide turf first round of the SAMCA cup.
Won't affect you too much.

I got bigger news, a bloke that resembles Warren Tredrea trained with the Rosies lads for the first time in about 5 years.

Heck, we have even witnessed PG rolling the arm over this pre-season - WTF is going on!!

This bloke is under the age of 30, from the sub continent and has recently moved to Oz as has found himself a job at a local community centre. Last played International ODI 3 years ago.

pretty sure it wasnt about the rules [-X , but was about the way we were treated and like our opinion didnt matter. like it was all about the turf.... but the rules sucked too, even though pdca, churches and adel ind are hardwicket... the rules had to favor turf... and too many games, we never had the best players playing... and still did very well..
