Duigan
Laidler
Hampson
McInnes or White (one of the two)
McLean
Mitchell
Ellard
Lucas
Scotland
Yarran
Joseph
Collins
Davies
O'keefe (R)

If they're serious, then 2014 needs to be a rebuilding year.

Reckon Sam Rowe could be on this list in 12 months time.

Carlton has made eight changes to its senior and rookie lists ahead of the upcoming trade and draft periods.

Luke Mitchell, Patrick McCarthy, Marcus Davies and Aaron Joseph have been informed that they will not be offered new contracts.

Joseph departs after 73 senior games for Carlton, having made his debut for the Club in Round 1, 2009 against Richmond.

The 24-year-old went on to be named Carlton's Best First Year Player in 2009.

Marcus Davies made 17 senior appearances for Carlton after being picked up with selection 43 in the 2009 National Draft, while Luke Mitchell and Patrick McCarthy have each played one AFL game in the navy blue.

Rookies Rhys O’Keeffe, Frazer Dale and Andrew Collins will also depart, while after 24 games for the Blues Jeremy Laidler has informed the Club he wishes to seek further opportunity elsewhere.

Carlton General Manager of Football Operations Andrew McKay has thanked the players for their commitment and dedication during their time at Visy Park.

“Each of these eight boys have all made a valuable contribution to the Carlton Football Club and we thank them for that,” McKay said.

“In Jeremy’s meeting he expressed he would like to look for an opportunity at another Club and we respect and support his decision to do so.

“On behalf of everyone at the Club, I sincerely thank the players for their service and wish them the best for their future football and personal careers.”

The AFL Trade Period begins on Monday 7 October, while the 2013 National Draft will take place on the Gold Coast on Thursday 21 November.

David Buttifant has been appointed as Carlton's new High Performance Manager.

Buttifant has a long and distinguished career in elite sport, beginning his career playing for Richmond and most recently spending 13 seasons as the Director of Sports Science at the Collingwood Football Club.

Carlton's General Manager of Football Operations Andrew McKay says Buttifant will deliver the fitness program for Carlton's Football Department.

“David is recognised as one of the best in his field, not only in Australia but globally,” McKay said.

“His experience and track record throughout his time in the AFL system is exactly what our Football Club requires in its pursuit of success.”

“We are very pleased to have landed such a highly regarded person for this important role within the Football Department.”

Buttifant is a Member of the AFL Research Board, and a Director and Founder of the NICK Foundation, which helps develop wellbeing programs for youth.

He replaces outgoing High Performance Manager Justin Cordy, who announced last month his intention to pursue new challenges.

Buttifant will officially commence his role at Visy Park on November 1
