From recollection (could be wrong) most said here it was around about 50-70 people at each. Wow. Maybe if more people turned up to these, then clubs may have felt more inclined to vote no. Or maybe they realise that the majority of their membership dont really care if the Crows are in the competition and may in fact be looking forward to beating them, or if they are Crows fans, going along and seeing both their clubs play on the same day. Or maybe they realise that for 90% of the season, nothing is different. Same club playing against the same SANFL teams.

Ditto Port and about how sad it is for "real" "Magpies" fans. No matter what decision a football club, or any organisation makes, a faction will be unhappy with that decision. So do you make decisions as a business based on the 3% who will be unhappy, of which 80% of them will probably get over it, or do you make decisions on the 97% who will continue to support that organisation regardless?

Safooty/SAFootytimes survey suggests your NO is a minority claim is BS Macca.

I do agree with you on it appears SANFL fans really don't gives shit though. More than happy to simply not go as opposed to keep their boards accountable which I find staggering.

I can assure you that is not the case at CDFC where our president knew vote YES and you'll be gone.

Yet again Grand Central generates $6 mill a year in revenue . 20% supporters/patrons stop rocking up that's $1.2 mill in revenue you are about to lose. So to say you need to stick with a majority is naive

Especially for to quote mr boon "50k and some deal on top up players"

I agree with you except that it isn't staggering that people aren't kicking out boards.
To do this you need
- people to be organised enough to gather support and campaign to members as to why the board needs to be changed
- have good people with the time and effort to stand on the board

But this isn't happening because all that everyone is seeing is doom and gloom which everyone seems powerless to stop. Say a group of Snouts go on the board of Glenelg, what can we change?

- we are unlikely to have all the skills and experience needed to do the job well. Passion only gets you so far.
- we still have the Crows and Port reserves fiasco to deal with. It will be hard to kick them out after a year as you will need the support of the other clubs and much of the damage will have been done by then. Plus this won't go down well with the AFL so it will become much harder to get any support from them. The SANFL needs some support from the AFL if it is to survive.
- Glenelg's financial situation is much much worse than the public realises :( There needs to have an outstanding group of people on the board to turn this around, and most people don't have the confidence that they have the ability to do this. It wouldn't be fun being the board at the time that the club merges or folds, it would be a very stressful and time-consuming role.

So anyone who thinks for a second about running for the board is put off very quickly, so the status quo remains and people just drift away from the SANFL as there are always plenty of other interesting and fulfilling ways to spend your life, no matter what interests you have.

Pretty simple I'm guessing, he feels passionately that the SANFL has been eviscerated by the actions of six clubs and is trying to hold them to account.

Not too tricky?

Hardly what could be called an objective market sample UK. A bit like Liberal Party Headquarters posting a survey "Do you like Kevin Rudd?"

Ironically the Labor Party conducting the same Poll would probably generate a similar result.

I guess we'll wait and see. Maybe it is naive but you cant make big decisions based on 35 people at an information night. Maybe the clubs recognise that it could be a case of 'change or die'. But then, I maintain my stance all through this that the death of the SANFL and mass walkouts is being drastically overstated.

I guess we'll see whos right or wrong this time next year.

Important decisions are made at AGMs where you often get less than 35 people. Also where did you get your 35 figure from. (which somehow went down from your 50-70 guess in your previous post  ) All I know about is 75 attendees at the Glenelg night (which was purposely put on after the week when Glenelg had a bye and advertised as little as possible) and an estimate of 100-200 at the Eagles one.

I'm pretty certain that now that the deals have been done and the commission / league directors signed off on it that the only thing that removing any of the clubs boards would only be acting from spite. Good luck.

I think you're a flog, but that isn't relevant here.

Overturn all the boards then, get the newly elected league directors to rescind the proposals and everything goes back how it was.

Yes UK Fan, so do I, but he doesn't have a high profile in the footy community like the bloke whom I believe will be named. I think maybe when the name was mentioned it may have held the Snout member back
This bloke does have business and leadership experience, so I'm not saying he doesn't.
