No, it's that they're not involved at all.

In an even competition you would aim for each to win a flag every 10 years (1/10 chance) wouldn't you ?[/quote]

Yeah agree with that but what is even about an AFL club with a salary cap of 10 million playing a state league club with a salary cap of less than half a million. Personally I don't agree with people saying the AFL reserves won't be strong the AFL gets more and more professional and I don't see how state league clubs can compete.
Its not that I don't want AFL cubs to have reserves but I think they will be to good. Look at VFL, AFL reserves are dominating.

I get it people who follow Port or the Crows couldn't care less if they dominate and community clubs like South never win but is this really good for the SANFL?

When it comes down to it, right now South has the same conditions as every other SANFL club I assume, so surely their issues are not related to conditions but something more entrenched ?

I heard an interview with Ron Fuller a few weeks back (just before he got the arse) and he seemed to be suggesting the club hadn't worked its areas hard enough among other things.

In 1970 it's not ;)

Community Club PP? More like the Noarlunga Social Club. It was said to me last night that a member of the South Adelaide Hierarchy told our delegation that Port Adelaide lacks relevance in the $ANFL. (Veiled threat about our License?)

South Adelaide talking about relevance.

The original PAFC model was all about remaining as a Community Club.

Yeah you are correct we have lagged behind and this is against clubs with the same conditions as us, how bad will it get against AFL clubs with more money, better resources, better player development ect. Will South increase Support when they get flogged by a professional AFL club versus part timers I strongly doubt it.

Basically what I am saying is I am happy for South to play whoever Port Adelaide, Modbury, Onkaparinga Valley Bulldogs as long as the conditions are even. (Which when you consider Port Adelaide and Adelaide Crows have a salary cap way bigger than SANFL clubs I don't see how it is even)

Port Adelaide dominated the SANFL league when all clubs had the same playing conditions and your reward was moving into the big time (AFL).

All I want is the same opportunity for South to try to win the league but how we do that given the advantages both Port and Crows will have I just don't know.

And so has whatever integrity there was. Those who ruined the integrity, shouldn't then complain when they perceive it is no longer there.

Just because your hierarchy stopped caring about this competition in the 1990s, doesn't mean we don't.
We're far from stuck in the '70s. As a Centrals supporter, I can't be stuck there.

Correct but SANFL isn't even anymore

Yes but under the new model, every side having a 1/10 chance its more even than eight sides having an 1/8 chance and 2 having a 0/8 chance surely ?

Many of the arguments months ago were about preserving integrity etc, not wanting the AFL sides to be too strong or weak - remember the whole scenario of a side coming up against a half rat-powered crows reserves to earn a spot in the finals.

Or is the interpretation of un-compromised by some, that the Crows/Port reserves are perennial middle of the table sides.

The argument was never about too strong or too weak, we just did'nt want either of the 2 AFL clubs. We didnt have to have a reason, the 2 AFL clubs wanted to join our comp.
Now that they are in we want them to have no chance to win the premiership and want to see them flogged every week, but the problem will be that their performance will vary so much from week to week depending on the whims of the AFL coach and injuries hence compromising the comp and the other 8 clubs ability to win premierships.
They are twice as likely to be effected by injury as a SANFL club (ie 4 injuries to AFL, 4 to their reserves means 8 changes to the reserves team in one week). This will potentially be even worse in the latter weeks of the season dependent upon wether or not the AFL club is in contention.

As you may have noticed have removed the Glenelg name from my profile as a protest against the Cows & Bogans coming in.

The Gutless BOD at Glenelg I will not be renewing my membership you can shove it up your ar$e.

At least the the majority of the clubs in WA voted against them being a feeder league

Claremont
West Perth
Perth
South Fremantle
East Fremantle
Subiaco
Swan District

Only East Perth who are financially stuffed and the biggest slut in the west Peel Thunder voted in favour unfortuatley the WAFC and the Eagles & Dockers who get more votes at the table. (Why are they even there!!!!)
out voted the seven other clubs.

At least those seven clubs had some balls. Just wish I could put Claremont in my teams profile !!! ( Moderators???)

:axe: :axe: :axe:
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you, Port Adelaide Sturt. & Norwood You don't beat Glenelg in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Why are Port Adelaide Reserves allowed to have a home ground (Alberton), but not the Crows?

I was happy to support my club and the SANFL for season 2014 after the Crows model was accepted and on the basis of what we were told at our members information night that Port would be offered exactly the same deal and the 8 League Clubs were united on that and would not back down or allow any variation. Well now the Port model is different and the fact that 7 of the 8 clubs (North strongly opposed it) allowed them a completely different model then I have lost all desire to follow a comp which has 3 sets of rules and standards. The decision to allow Port no age restriction on it's 15 top up players will almost certainly result in the Crows getting the same in the near future. So the two full time professional clubs playing in our comp will end up with more advantages than the 8 semi-professional teams who are the core of the SANFL.

How the SANFL and the Directors who allowed this to occur (including my Club Director re the Crows vote), need to really re-assess what they have done and never whilst they hold power use such words as relevancy and integrity in respect to the decsion they have made that IMO have now ensured the SANFL as we knew it / know it at present slides into mediocrity under the control of the AFL Clubs and ultimately the AFL.

I will not attend another NAFC game nor will I renew my membership.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

In reality, due to salary cap restrictions I doubt the age limit will make much difference.
I also don't remember ports model allowing an ex AFL player like the crows.

Basically, can't see ports cap having room for any top line over 22 yo players.

Sure does.
Allows 1 player over 28 who has been on a Port Power or Port Magpies list

Going by that Johncock could qualify as a Cows or Power top up player

With the maggies becoming the powers reserves, I am done with the SANFL. I hate the Power for killing us. They can out the blame on the SANFL all they want but we all know it was the power that pushed for a reserve team, no one else,
