So the commission didn't take the removal of the age limit restriction back to the clubs?

This group of men must be removed.

The Commission have completely rooted up this issue from the start.

They appear to have made many decisions and presented them to both Crows and Power without consulting the 8 clubs.

It's embarassing.

Well they have a spot for a 'Leadership' Player and they must be over 28 years old and off the AFL list.....

1 thing is certain it won't be Richard Tambling if he gets cut. Would prefer to stay with Sturt I believe.

Seriously get rid of the commission members they have no idea. Vote the Crows out ASAP and offer them a spot in the reserves along with the Power If they want to go to the SAAFL let them.

I want this issue over one way or another either a Magpies team with the same deal as this year or no reserves players at all. Any reserves kills us as a legitimate SANFL club

A $400,000 salary cap.

(As opposed to a $10,000,000 one).

Surely you jest?

A semi professional SANFL club, operating under a very moderate salary cap, with matching coaching and player resources, up against an AFL club operating to vastly different coaching, and player development regimes. Sounds like the perfectly level playing field doesn't it..

nice attempt to deflect Booney, the top up player rules have remained the same

- SANFL Clubs can opt in / out of providing top up players to the AFC.

- SANFL Clubs must make the decision on in /out by November 1st.

- Should SANFL Clubs chose to opt in, they agree to always have a minimum of 2 players available for selection for the AFC.

- These players will be:

o 18 22 years old, on an SANFL Club list

o Selected at start of pre-season in conjunction with SANFL Clubs

Now back to how the Port maggpies/power or whatever they are will dominate the comp.... yep their model is much better than AFCs. Give me a break

So whats the point of the whole academy setup if we can then only have players playing league for 1 season before they are forced to move on due to age restrictions?

The whole thing becomes pointless. Why bother signing on a 19 year old who spends a year playing in the SANFL reserves, then a year playing in the league only to then be poached by another SANFL club because hes not allowed to stay on?

So yes, not only will Port have no recruiting zones, it will have **** all opportunity to keep any players at all. Yep, perfectly level playing field

Because it's all about the Power, isn't it? If he's not likely to play AFL, or doesn't fit the current needs, he'll be moved on. This isn't about SANFL success but AFL success.

Exactly, Port want everything to suit them. they have and always will think they are bigger and better than the comp!

Token effort from KT and Koch to differentiate themselves from the Crows, while beating their chests about maintaining a community link (even though these kids can come from anywhere and Port's zone is no more) and nurturing junior talent. Something the Crows don't do. After all it was Koch who was adament Port woould not field a ressies team at the expense of the Maggies junior structure. How much $$ and resources will the Power pump into a program which offers absolutely no guaranteed benefits to their AFL side?

Power Reserves will also be granted a 9 point super-goal from outside 50m as well as extra players on the interchange bench.

Postby on the rails » Tue Sep 10, 2013 3:19 pm

My mail is the Crows are now jumping up and down and complaining re the revised Port model and specifically the top up player age limit which is fair enough!

Watch the SANFL bend over and modify that to help the Crows. If that did happen then the 8 other clubs will be fighting a losing battle in trying to limit the strength of the two AFL club who could with no age limit on top up players quite easily attract very good SANFL League players to those squads despite the payment per game restriction. There are plenty of ways AFL clubs could hide payments / benefits beyond the $400 a game paid to a listed SANFL only player. The other 8 clubs may as well just give up now as quite clearly they have no control over their comp and the Commission and as it appears the Directors from those Clubs don't give a sh*t either.

How the SANFL could not get two identical models for the AFL teams to operate under is a joke!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

So, let's say no SANFL clubs sign on to offer Adelaide top-up players. Where to then?

And it seems you're defending/discussing a model (Adelaides) that is yet to be finalised. How can you do that?

To offer Port something more than the Crows are getting is a joke and anyone proposing that should not be on the commission.
They both get EXACTLY the same or the deal is off. So yes wait for it .... the Crows will get the same deal.
My question is same as someone else said ..... why would you want to put time and effort into developing young kids who you wont necessarily have. No guarantee you will get a certain player he just goes into the draft.
Leave the development of young kids to the people that have been doing that brilliantly for over a hundred years ..... the SANFL Clubs !!!!!
