Eagles vs West - Qualifying Final inc Post Match

Postby eaglehaslanded » Mon Sep 09, 2013 11:33 pm

The Eagles and West have battled each other in four previous finals, but never in a qualifying final. Both teams hold two wins each.

West by 5 goals. I think the Eagle fans thought they won the Grand Final on Saturday.

Well we did pick up the Stanley H Lewis trophy in the last gasp. Is an excellent achievement for the club.

Always a big chance when you play West with their defensive game plan and limited forward options - 10 goals should be enough

Funny that. There were some Westies fans on the outer at Woodville in Round 2 who thought they'd won the Grand Final!

I think we'll stay with West for one-and-a-half quarters, but then be overrun fairly easily, I reckon about 15 goals to 8.

Dunno about that, I want West to win and it has nothing to do with my team as we'll be out of the comp on Sunday night.
2 nil I'm predicting.

It should beat this record fairly comfortably, since West only need to win by 38...we only made four changes from the Rd 23 2010 side to the Elimination:

Ins Rd 23 2010: Hill, Smith
Outs: Grocke, Redden

Ins EF 2010: Grocke, Hentschel, Welsh, Cheep
Outs: Hill, Goldsworthy, Staple, Day

It will depend on which West turns up, the West that tries to kick a winning score or the West that tries to win only kicking 6 goals. Eagles by 35

I didn't think any neutrals would be too thrilled about another Norwood v West final.
