Yep, I heard this from a group of people who were first in line to be "baited"- purely because 1 guy inthe group had an IF Cricket Shirt on.
It appears the group (whomever they may have been) where there to target IF supporters.
My $0.02- Ingle Farm don't have a case to answer, it was unprovoked.
Not suggesting Angle Vale do either, but obviously an investigation will proceed, in which they'll have the opportunity to clear their name.

Hypothetically speaking, if supporters from one club are attacked, and there was no official link to another club, surely the SAAFL would be powerless to act- as in not able to impose any sanctions on any particular club?

Feel sorry for Ingle Farm, Angle Vale, Salisbury, and those who have put the hard work in to keep the Smithfield footy club up and running.

If this was caused by the group I'm thinking off, they aren't even from Smithfield football club. But they are a well known group in the area who when causing incidents like this brag about the neighborhood they are from, giving it a bad name.

Unfortunately this incident comes as no great surprise, as this same group has been riding on the coat tails of another northern clubs finals run from the minute they were "innocently" rubbed out of the division. There behaviour at both finals games I played in up there was nothing short of disgusting, they left the area they loitered in a terrible state on both occasions. In the preliminary final I was concerned for my wife and children enough to make sure they were nowhere near them whatsoever. Talking to a couple of opposition players on the day they where certainly not impressed with there so called new "supporter group". If they have nothing to do with the Smithfield footy club it may pay for the players wearing club polo's to distance themselves from them as opposed to joining them.

Get the photos, get their names - Is there anything within the SAAFL rulebook which we could use to create a quasi restraining order so that when the cops do get called they have power to arrest/detain on site? Be proactive in other words.

It's got nothing to do with the league Morell - it's a police matter.

This isn't AFL, where people can be banned from closely scrutinised and very secure grounds full of police, security guards and redcoats...

Completely agree with you.

It seems to be over the last couple of years there have been a handful of players, but it's their hanger on 'mates' that associate themselves with clubs and damage their names.

But I could be completely wrong still..... just making my own assessment from what I have heard/seen/know.

I'm sure they would quite happily have there photo taken, and then provide their name...

Yeah i know. I would have thought there would be something the cops could use so that we dont have to wait until they do something illegal to call the boys in blue. Maybe something to do with licensed venue restrictions or something? Do we have absolulety no control over who rocks up to the games? Dunno. Such a shame. I hope Mitchell Park never have to deal with it. I shudder to think what would occur.

Well, one would suggest that the club effected would make a stand and NOT allow these affiliations into their own back yard.
We saw 2 blokes with black jumpers with a bikie gang name and the word "nominee" emblazoned across the front openly kicking a footy at the quarter time break with spectators wearing AV supporter gear. Funnily enough....same colours!

AV will grow into a magnificent club over the coming years due to the massive growth in this area. It would be wise for them to act now before it is to late. Just saying!!

Why didn't you just use the winky face then.

Apparently there were undercovers there. Surely they would've cottoned on to what was going on. What did they do?

Would it have anything to do with the League if a couple of players on the ground ran over to join in?

It's a f**ken joke! Like i posted yesterday, once again our name (Ingle Farm) gets dragged into crap - work so hard to try and change an image/culture/perception and then this crap happens and we are implicated in it.

I've already had two people who were keen to sign for next season ring and tell me to forget about it then i've just had my daughters mum see the crap on the news and she is difficult enough at the best of times so now it looks like it's going to affect my personal life and i wasn't even involved!!

Smithfield should just be burnt to the f**king ground! Pack of derelics and the only word they know how to spell is their post code!
