Carlton 2013

Talk on the national game

You were closer to a flag 2-3 years ago than what you are now.
You have achieved nothing with a fistfull of top 10 draft picks and one of the best players of all time.
Mick the messiah has taken you backwards and 3/4 of your fans think you have one of the worst lists going around.
The Suns and GWS will start to make their mark and both our clubs will be in the bottom half together for a long time to come. Even the Dogs look to have more upside than either of our clubs

Jim you have a good list and the sanctions will only hurt you for a short period of time and then longer term. But you will have a window in which you can win a flag, its just with the possible draft sanctions coming, when that window closes well you'll be in St.Kilda Territory.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

Yeah maybe. We have too many soft outside mids. Need some mongrel players who are ruthless. We will be very active in trade time. It'll be very interesting. Mick is a good list manager and at years end will be his first chance to make definitive changes. The game has changed in 3 years. Our consistent 2010 players are no longer good enough. There will be a couple of forced retirements too.

Judd has been a good player but did you give up too much to get him, Kennedy will win the Coleman

Judd has been a brownlow winning star for us and we wouldn't have been anywhere as good 09, 10, 11 without him.

Kennedy is younger and is creating his own legacy.

I was disappointed we didn't go for White initially last year. He's never in their best 22 when they have a full squad but he's a big body and that's what we need. Another person we need is someone of the Nathan Jones ilk. And Ryan Griffen!

And a midfield coach and a forward coach.

I swear both of those jobs should be spilt. We're shocking in the midfield with what should be the best mids going around and up forward, we never have any space, thereby bombing it to the oppositions talls.

Can't disagree with this, either!

''I'm so used to Robert Walls being a critic, I've fair dinkum had Robbie Walls for - let me see how long have I coached for? - oh well, long enough to know that Robert is a very negative person... So I take absolute nothing in what Robert says. He lives in his own misery and so be it.''

If only we could get them in room together ala Sheedy vs Walls...
Walls is actually finishing up this year and pissing off to live in France.
Mick (and others) will be relieved.

Yep, so he (Mick) should. People that make him accountable have no position in the media (as Mick did last year) or life in general. End of story.

I mean, Walls has coached, he's won premierships, hes' done the hard yards (Brisbane, Fitzroy, Richmond). If anyone is going to be critical of someone at the top end, someone like Walls should have some credence in media circles. Not in Mick's eyes of course. He is the primadonna of all things coaching. FFS, when will people realise he's not the messiah that everyone sees him as?

You will only get a end of second round pick for betts. But you will get a good deal for yarran

Doesn't it depend on the value of the offer. Would think it'd be higher than what you're suggesting. Could be bored Crows media hype due to not having anything else to talk about cos of no finals this year

It goes on a few things. What money he is on, what the deal is, where he finishes in your BnF and how long he has played at your club for.

Of all the free agents only Goddard was a first round compensation last year

Pearce, Chaplin were second round and lynch and young were third round

Ok, if I had my Mick Malthouse hat on, I'll call you all obnoxious, irrelevant arzholez... but I'm not. Seriously though, those to be given the flick via trade or delisting;

Duigan
Laidler
Hampson
McInnes or White (one of the two)
McLean
Mitchell
Ellard
Lucas
Scotland
Yarran
Joseph
Collins
Davies
O'keefe (R)

If they're serious, then 2014 needs to be a rebuilding year.

We'll be very active during the trade period. Add Betts to your list.

Thats a fair list to get rid of in one year.

I did say to trade some of them. If they couldn't be traded, then we'd have to keep them.

Hampson, Lucas, Yarran, McLean, White or McInnes, Duigan could all be traded IMO.
