With PNU's form improving each week it could be another year where the RAMS had another great year but looked destined to remain in Divvy 3. It should be a game of last man standing I would think.....

I'm still backing Seaton to get through next week. Hope they can give Furst or whoever gets Jolly a chop out though.

Both Coaches I would think will have a plan for Jolly and Loechel respectively ....could be a good punting medium on which forward reigns supreme on the day...... Kory is good but I reckon Jolly can play tall and is quicker at ground level.

Look as though Macca had the better game plan.....well done to PNU.....

There are some interesting Saafl fb memes going around - Seaton obviously a club many love to hate? I must say the crowd was huge yesterday when I rocked up at Pedlar Reserve, not as many as Portland/Port districts in div 2 but still well done to Pnu, who had the port power/magpies cheer squad it seemed!

PNU do have their own cheer squad made up of their juniors a few of the Dads and one or two of them might be Port Magpies fans so the flags get double duty.

I personally have no issue with Seaton or their players and like Ray their coach but as in all clubs there was that small distasteful crowd element who embarrass their club. I am not having a go at Seaton FC but as a supporter if you are going to wear your clubs merchandise I feel you have a certain standard you should adhere too. Some of the things I heard made me laugh because my ears couldn't believe the barbs they were being treated too. As for the bloke that ran on the field in the first quarter, that simply completely unacceptable. Well done to the officials as they had the quiet word that needed to be had.

He who laughs last laughs longest.

Well said WW. The banter in the crowd provided a great atmosphere. A couple took it too far. Especially that little man that embarrassed himself by running on the field yelling, but as you pointed out it was handled well by Seaton. Great game as a spectator!

Top game to watch as a neutral supporter.

Jolly lined up for his 6th from the 50 on the outer flank in the 3rd quarter, a Seaton player (won't name names) was giving him some of the hardest sledging I'd heard all day re: weight, usefulness etc, some of his hardest stuff. Jolly went back, slotted it and walked away without saying a word, had a feeling from that point PNU weren't going to lose.

Just a recommendation for Seaton, could make the verandah a non-smoking area, I stood under there for a quarter and a half so as to stay close to the bar, but chose to spend the rest of the afternoon on the outer side beer-less so I didn't get emphysema.

Shame for the sledger as that's probably the last time he will get to play against the big man. :) He is the easy target for the opposition and cops it every week with people often going too far. Having said that many of the PNU supporter base targeted Loechel when he was near us and at times we would have had individuals potentially cross the line with the verbal attacks.

Its hard being a big power forward ;)

Well done to the payneham boys great effort coming from outside the top 3 to make the gf. They have had a good run of grand final appearances in the last ten years. Where is the grand final being played this week?

Jolly and Roberts would be the best 2 forwards in amateur league, and Brimacombe would be a gun at div 1 level also. Throw in all the other experienced boys, plus a few of their speedy youngsters, they would have to be the best team in the comp when at full strength.
It would be a massive surprise to me if they didn't make it to the GF at least (although their results don't indicate that to anyone else at the moment).

Gee....I hope you like surprises.... ;)

Well I'm glad to see a mid season prediction of mine has come through :D

Think it's at thebby. Scotch certainly would be firm favourites after a week off and with the results they have had this year, although finals in Saafl this year have been very unpredictable and surprising!

I was hoping you wouldn't ask me that. Now I'm under pressure to sound like I know what I'm talking about. So here it goes...
If Jolly kicks more goals than points, but more than 3 goals, PNU will win. The big ground will work against them though.

I am predicting a massive crowd though. Most college sides tend to get big crowds at their GF's, and combined with PNU's huge following, I predict 3000 people to attend.

3,000 people. When they layed the new grass at Gaza did they use the Dicky Jones marahoochie variety. I think 1,500 tops mate. Thankfully they moved our C grade GF from 12.15 miles away to 10am at Kilburn so that should get the expected 200+ PNU C grade players, staff and supporters to be able to attend both games as i read you can get pass outs between grounds.

Either way it will be a cracking day at Thebby. Id love another nail bitting thriller like last week. It was a superb prelim final.

All jokes aside. With Bird of Preys genius football brain it will be a huge disappointment if he doesn't coach one day. The timing could be perfect as his club is in need of a coach. I will be a referee on your CV BOP!
