TEAM_FISH: 319 points + Martin + Staker
SCLSU Mud Dogs: Ablett + Cotchin + Hanley + Griffen
After Abletts 90 it's now:

TEAM_FISH: 229 points + Martin + Staker
SCLSU Mud Dogs: Cotchin + Hanley + Griffen

Martin smashing it up and Cotchin relatively quiet so far. 8)

Ablett spudding up at the halftime mark - only 41 points so far.

Time to start making funeral arrangements.
Or start preparing for mad Monday. :D

Cooked a bbq and started on the beers!
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

Hogg Division II Preliminary Finals Review

1st Preliminary Final

Ecky's Fevolas 2437
Moneybrawl 2146

Everything went according to script for Ecky as he carded a very good 2437 which was more than enough to account for a misfiring Moneybrawl in the First Preliminary Final. Ecky took the risk with Pendlebury's 114 as skipper and this provided him with a 48 point advantage as Dogmatic was one of many coaches let down by Gary Ablett in this finals series. In the preview I wrote that Mitch Duncan was going to cause him some angst if he left him on the bench and Duncs' duly delivered with a 120 on the bench while on-field midfielders Boak (70) and O'Meara (49) failed to flatter. Even Ecky's back up defender Pittard racked up 87 and this sums up the nature of this match. Moneybrawl never really in it with not much going his way.

Ecky's Fevolas will retain their place in the Champions League and they are fast getting a reputation as one of the best teams in the Hogg. They will be one to watch out for in Division I next season and it appears that they have timed their run perfectly this season.

2nd Preliminary Final

TEAM_FISH 2482
SCLSU Mud Dogs 2297

FISHy has sounded out a warning to Ecky's Fevolas that the flag is not yet hanging in the Fevs' clubrooms after scoring the best score of the Preliminary Finalists this week. The FISH have come from a shaky 8th spot and hammered out a very impressive finals run to earn an invite to the Hogg Champions League next season. TEAM_FISH has stuck by a Captain Selwood strategy and it has proven to be very successful as Ablett was one of many Mud Dogs not to flatter when the wick went up. Songy is a shattered man as dud after dud failed to crack the ton as he fell further and further behind the mighty FISH. Trading in Andrew Walker this week is about as unlucky as it gets but Crow Lewis Johnstone covered him nicely. The problem for the Muddies was the lower than usual scoring of proven players such as the subbed out Cotchin, Boak, Birchall and Hibberd.

For TEAM_FISH it is a second promotion in two seasons in what has been a mighty effort. What odds for FISHY to be in Premier League in 2015?? They've done very well this finals series but beating the mighty Ecky's is a very big ask indeed in what should be a close Grand Final.

Yep you had no luck at all I didn't know you'd traded in Walker this round that stinks!

In the end I thought it might come down to Martin v Cotchin and that duel really turned it well and truly in my favour.

My 2482 was easily my best score for the year and I think my best score ever!

Had the choice between Riewoldt and Walker. Just a disastrous week for me but all the best in the final Fish.

"timed their run perfectly" = using up their last trades a few weeks before finals in a desperate but unsuccessful attempt to make the finals of the Pineapple and Lobster, and not caring about the consequences of that for the other Leagues I'm in. I've just got very lucky since then in who I have played and that my premiums haven't got injured/suspended (until Hartlett last week but I then pulled Pittard's 87 out of somewhere)

Proof that luck plays a huge part in this game!

Seven wins from seventeen games, a percentage of 101.13 and the third highest scoring team and Professor Crow has been relegated (teams in red). If the Professor can play as well again next season he'll be back in in Division II again soon but SCD must be a shattered man tonight!

Thanks for all the work this year again REB.
It's a massive job and great effort you put in...

I'm still trying to work out how the hell I got relegated this year

Not even winning the bottom 8 with the highest score for the year makes up for it :( :(
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

You were bloody unlucky. II was a very even league and if you score like you did this year you'll soon be back there.
