If you're on the other side of the oval, your opinion doesn't really count for anything, ergo, you should say nothing at all.

scottroo wrote:instead of having a go at me, why don't you explain what you saw from full back?
Read previous post. I was playing at half forward so again, I really don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. I was 5m from all of it and in the end was one of the blokes who calmed it down.

Sorry everyone

I'm enforcing the tribunal rule now, I'm going to have to recommend no further detailed discussion until after tribunal, which means a lot of this will come down.

Yeah, to get the truth out there, I would prefer not to have to spend my Sunday warding off the keyboard warriors. Much rather nothing be said at all and let the authorities deal with it!

Ill give this feedback to the club, was it near our supporters? Very surprised as we're usually red hot on not leaving rubbish behind.

You might want to talk to your barman on the day! The Lockleys lads from the other side, whilst did byo on the day also whipped around the hat and raised $150 odd which we donated to your club at 3/4 time of the 2nd's I personally thought it was a nice gesture!!As for a mess I would be disappointed if there was one as we were keeping on top of it through out the day but could not vouch for it at the end as I was a little inebriated by then. Apologies if that was the case.

If that is the case then well done - I think thats a very good gesture. We do expect some rubbish around the oval but I guess from a clubs point of view its a bit much if its from grog people brought with them rather than purchased from the bar. Wont be as easy this week with the fences at Kenilworth.

To get back onto the stuff that matters, i personally am absolutely pumped for saturday. If the game is as good as the match at Glandore i saw between the two sides we will be in for an entertaining day. I think Kenilworth being a bigger oval will help CLG because it will give harvs a bit more space to move up forward. Stopping him will be the key but they will need to keep an eye on a handful of others also.

no pressure scottroo and zedman but if im diving 4.5 hours on a friday arvo to see you guys play the least you can do is 2 flags for me :P

Just on this, and before we get into the discussion on the Grand Finals, our president read the forum and had this response:

I have persistently campaigned for clubs NOT to bring alcohol into other clubs licensed venues – I have had several discussions with John K - there will now be something coming out from SAAFL for next season.

During the game on Saturday I frequently requested our supporters to NOT bring alcohol into the ground and to purchase from the licensed venue, on 2 occasions I directed supporters to remove eskies and on both occasions had these secured in the back of my ute until the end of the MPFC game. But. On attempting to purchase a West End draught at the end of our game, I was told they sold out during the last quarter of the reserves.

In regards to the litter - when I requested a 'can bin' for near the Mitchell Park bench and near the entrance gate, where most of our supporters were, they didn’t have any to provide, so we though we would pile the cans and bottles for WOS to collect and recycle.

So long story short, essentially MPFC match day officials were monitoring the BYO and did confiscate eskies when able to and not watching game, monitoring crowd and attending to required duties etc. We probably think WOS underestimated crowd and demand, which meant the supply ran out well before the end of first game - which would have been much sooner if some hadn’t BYO. The infrastructure in regards to bins etc was perhaps inadequate for sections of the crowd away from the clubroom hence why we piled them so WOS were able to collect and recycle empty containers.

cheers

A very fair response on all fronts. The crowd probably did exceed our expectations - the weather on the day helped that. We ran out of WE draught because its sh!t and we dont sell much of it ;)

Cheers to all the boys from Rosewater that hung around for a beer after the game on Saturday. Good to have a chat with both Horse and Rumbles. While they obviously had to be very disappointed they were gracious in defeat, which was good.
