Sides have something like a 90 percent win ratio the week after the coach gets axed. Not willing to make a prediction yet but beware a Panther side with something to prove...

Not in South's case recently. After Pyman got the boot the effort the following week (against Westies I think) was absymal. Following Cahill's departure we showed a bit for a half at Elizabeth before losing by 6 or 7 goals.

That wouldn't have anything to do with a Player already on South's List?

Wow, this game was created a lot of discussion ;)

Quite a good game to watch today, with some decent weather helping for a change. Honours fairly even in the 1st term before the blues made most of the breeze in the 2nd, jumping out to a 5 goal lead. Their transition from defence to attack was very good at times. A few late goals before half time kept South in the contest. The 3rd term belonged to the visitors, as we started to get on top in the middle and began to convert our chances in-front of goals after some wayward kicking early. Ditto in the 4th, the lead out to 4 goals at one point before Sturt made a late charge.

Liked the games of Liddle and Murphy in the middle, while Redigolo and the unsung Giddings were good in defence. Wundke could have kicked 8 had his kicking boot been on. Hourigan showed he will be a player. As is the case when you win, most guys did their bit.

Jeansch probably Sturt's best. Stephens looks a good type, and Calabrese got a lot of it but mucked around with it at times.

Pleasing to see South "take the game on" and play some positive footy, as opposed to some of the zig-zag crap we've dished up most of this season.

Reasonable crowd, and there seemed to be heaps of kids running around which was good.

So that ends a (another) wasted year for my club. Tellingly 5 of 6 wins came against either Sturt or the Bays, which suggests we've got a long way to go to be a finals contender next season.

Hey - I don't need to make predictions to look stupid!

Good win by the Panthers today. You have a bunch of players in your side who can take a strong grab and midfielders smart enough to move it on quickly to them. Sturt on the other hand played some uninspiring and dumb footy.

I went away thinking though what a bunch of heartless players you have down south (with the exception of half a dozen who have integrity). 4 x 100 point losses in a year suggests to me that the majority of your players have no real passion for the club. They were willing to disappoint their long-suffering supporters by playing this year to spite Ron. If you hate him, fine. But, think about the greater implications of your pathetic efforts. Let's hope South find a good coach, but let's also hope they move on some of the pretenders in the side and bring in some players who are willing to display effort on a weekly basis.

Fair call that CC. Will be interesting to see how Cross plays out the next period. His public procrastinating about if he would play or not this year turned out to set the scene the year that was. Suggest this time around that he commit early and embraces the club, or the club look for alternatives that can get the job done.

My understanding is Cross is not the only player out of contract.

Hopefully we can get a Coach who can bring the boys together and start winning some more bloody games!!!!!

Cross is (surprise, surprise) one of the MUST keep players for the Panthers in 2014. Lose him and Liddle and you would be in all sorts of strife...

Is it more difficult to attract players being located where you are? It's a long trip to Noarlunga for each training session if you don't live that way...
