They gave West 3 recruits and Norwood 2 go figure ?
The original recruiting ban stays this is to compensate the two clubs for players lost to the Crows. In Norwood's case Brown and Grigg, they did not consider Taylor Walker lost.
Investigate away !!

Fair enough. We will claim Dangerfield and Crouch.

I don't agree with decision either. Very poor and can see why the other clubs are seething.

Norwood should be allowed to replace Grigg (he qualified for finals). That is all the concessions there should've been. None of the others have played enough games to be considered a loss to the sides, so remaining penalties stand.

The players that would have otherwise been able to play for Norwood if dropped are able to be replaced .... same applies to West Adelaide but I don't know their players well enough to name them .... Laird ????
The penalties previously imposed still apply.... to Norwood and West. And Magpies.

That's not quite right. Only home grown players.

West was Porplyzia, Rutten, Laird - but not Dangerfield.

It doesn't make sense, given any home grown players can be drafted off anywhere in the country. Do you give more concessions to Norwood now if they lose Aish to Melbourne?

To a certain extent you would plan a season around possible AFL included players so I can understand why there are concessions, but in Norwood and West's case, there is only really one Crows player that makes an impact and that is Grigg.

PS. Given these two clubs are the current best clubs without too much AFL influence, maybe all clubs will be better off without any AFL players. Or you could look at it the other way and say clubs will be better off if they cheat the salary cap!

It still makes me laugh when people continue to think Norwood overpaid players and are salary cap cheats. They weren't over the salary cap, they were fined as they didn't declare to the SANFL that McGuiness's contract had been changed from a player one to a marketing/promotions one when he did his knee and was out for the rest of the year. Get your facts straight before shooting your mouths off.

As for the AFL players concessions, I see nothing wrong with what the SANFL have said regarding Norwood and Westies. The penalties were handed down before anyone knew the Crows reserves team would be in the SANFL and they shouldn't lose out because of this. And I would think the same thing if it was happening to any other club.

Given that most clubs would recruit 2-3 league standard recruits each year, (yes - a bit of a generalisation but stick with me), does this mean that by offering West and Norwood concessions from their restrictions, that the SANFL assume all other clubs will recruit their normal 2 or 3 PLUS recruit extra players to replace the Crows players they have lost?

I think probably not - which would seem to me that there is no real need to offer the concessions.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Bringing any resemblance of this to Hillsborough illustrates a lot.

Disgusting!

Just pointing out it doesn't have to be spoken about every minute to continue to be relevant.

Having said that, the Heysel 39 are always overlooked by the bin-dippers.
