Essendon 2013

Talk on the national game

Essendon look guilty as sin to me. In fact, the more we hear the worse it sounds for them. I feel sorry for the fans out there being fed lines and defending their club. For the sake of the players, fans and game in general Essendon need to stop trying to squirm out of it and come clean. The gig is up, it's not a matter of how much pain. At least by admitting it's over they can start to move on.

Sounds like a breakthough finally

At this stage all we know is they are out of the finals

Edit : appears to be nothing more than a media reaction to comments Mark Thompson made as he left the building.

If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

No surprise Corcoran has supposedly accepted a 4 month ban. What a pathetic joke the AFL is.
Just a nice little holiday for him

I love the victorian conspiricy that the AFL are just out to get the crows. Carlton got really belted by the AFL if in fact you actually know your history GG. Let me guess the umpires are always out to cheat you to make sure the vic teams play finals and that eddie mcguire has told them to do this to make more.money? Thats favourite. But the best is always that the crows just made an honest mistake and were setup by tje Afl. lol there always funny.

Exactly right Stan, too many people in SA think the rest of the country is out to get them

No different than any other one eyed supporters, I've heard Collingwood, Carlton, Hawthorn, Essendon, Melbourne (the tanking issue), even the Brisbane supporter I work with, say they are hard done by at times.

Disappointed but not unexpected
Time to cop our whack and move on, dont think the draft penalties will hurt us as bad as Carlton as we now have free agency and we are still allowed to trade for picks.
Some hope still that we may only lose next years pick 1&2 and only number 1 in 2014.
Hird should be be relieved to only cop 1 year IMO, I beleive the club will pay him next year whilst he sits out if he chooses to stay on at end of ban.
Think the court shenanigans will continue for awhile yet but let them handle that

So your saying all those Collingwood, Carlton, Hawthorn, Essendon, Melbourne & Brisbane supporters that complain they are hard done by are wanker supporters.

I believe the AFL had more in their back pocket than Essendon thought. AFL would have played that and Essendon to me did the right thing. Take the penalty offered and move on.

Question for ya Jim, would Essendon dare to drop say 6 or 8 of their stars that may have niggles or require surgery this week?

I believe that a few fringe players and kids will play this week.
Id be sending the stars off on a holiday a week early.
Think there is about a dozen that could come in from the VFL side

I'm stunned that James Hird still refuses to accept the blame for this fiasco. If he is not at fault then who is at fault?

Does he think that he is bigger than the game?

WOW how pathetic are the AFL? I thought the Crows got hit with a wet lettuce leaf for their misdemeanor (which they did), but in relation to the nature of disreputable activity, the Bombers have waltzed through this. Surely the AFL (or more to the point Demetriou or Mclachlan) have made their own mistakes in this fiasco to for the penalty to be so light??

Agree JK, how do they basically get a first round draft pick in 2014? Crows didn't get that
