A few of us from Salisbury are hoping to get up to Mallala on Saturday to repay the gesture of the lads who came down to our club to watch us after CR5's passing.

Good luck to those lads and the Mallala FC, hopefully the relationship between the two clubs can become stronger and stronger as time goes on.

I was sitting in front of that one today. Parish was slightly late to a marking contest, mostly with his hip. The Virginian (Galic ?), fell heavily. Umpire was in good view. I think he may have hit the ground on the way down. It didn't look like he had a mouth guard and may have split his lip or mouth with his teeth. Went to hospital as I understand so hopefully not too bad other than stitches.

No report and nothing really intentional - certainly no malice or deliberate hit etc. There was a lot of blood and it probably looked a lot worse than it was for the spectators. A few neutral supporters behind me (from Sals FC) didn't think there was too much in it. Sorry to ruin a good rumour :(

I think #14 for the Ram reserves might be in trouble but.

Andrew Hardiman set to miss this week after having surgery on his hand (possibly thumb?)

Did the job on Niklaus last time. Also Fitzgerald appears to have finally busted his hand too. Not sure if footy-related or done snow skiing with mates.
Right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

my predictions for B&F at clubs this year

Mallala J. Mongomerie/D King toss up here both the top 2 IMO
Two wells N. Seccafien should be winner
Virginia M. Young/B Russell both regularly features in the best C Howell a chance too
United K. Ettridge Just wins
Hamley V. Thach/Taylor/Herble my money is on Thach but its 1 of these 3
Balaklava H. Walker wins easy
Hummocks J Ciccalela run away winner

just my thoughts then again have missed a few games but the ones i did see all of the above were standouts IMO
When it comes to winning you need the skill and the will

Obviously I'm bored or I woudn't be getting into this, but I decided to look at best players for clubs on Sportingpulse togauge who would be best and fairest. Yes I know this isn't always accurate and some clubs use and abuse it, but.... I got bored after 3 clubs, so you can do your own...by my calculations, using 654321 scores.
Mallala - King - 44, Hardie 43, J. Mont only 34
United - Heath Pym - 48, Mills - 36,[b] Ettridge - 28[/b
]HWE - Cicca - 40, Ad. Turrell - 40,

Just goes to show.
Now you do your club

Heath Pym will win United's by the length of the straight.

Interested to hear how each club awards votes for thier B&F. At Mallala, three voting slips are distributed - one to the coaching staff and two others to regular punters involved in the club. On each slip, they award 3, 2, 1 votes. As such, the most one player can win each week is nine votes. For the best players that appear in the paper, a similar slip is provided to the same people only they award 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 votes. Hence, if a player is awarded fourth best in the paper evey week, it is possible, though unlikley, that he may not poll a vote in the clubs B&F.

I've also played at clubs were the coaching staff and one committee/board member sit down and assess the performance of every player each week on a scale of 1 -5. Whereby, 5 is the ultimate performance, i.e. 40 possies and 5 goals - rarely is awarded, and 1 is basically for putting on the jumper. To me this system seemed to award consistency much better and it also allows key position players that get less of the footy but do a role for the team far more recognition. i must admit i prefer the later.

Any thoughts?
