We can all see that David came on here expecting us to roll over and part our cheeks (accept the AFC in the SANFL) like the SANFL league directors did and when he tried to buy us a few drinks (by stroking our hair and telling us it will be ok) he soon realised that he was up against it and his tone became smarmy and unpalatable as the decision grew clearer.

He wont be back. The next time you're in here and see "guest" listed on the bottom of the page it will be most likely him with a little smirk on his face.

Thanks for treating the people of this football forum who make up a large portion of the SA football public with such contempt.

.

Why should he come back? I would suggest that it was actually the people of this forum who treated him with contempt and initiated the smarmy unpalatable tone.
You're stuck in a time warp and you are unable to see that change is inevitable and that the SANFL is continually evolving.
Society would still be in the caveman era with the neanderthal thinking of some people here.
Why don't you even try to understand change and adapt to it and make some positive contributions towards it.

Hang on a minute. Not everyone believes that change is necessary. Just because someone feels the comp they love doesn't need to change doesn't make them wrong.
It's that self centered attitude from people like you and your mate David, who simply ignored any questions he didn't want to answer no matter how politely or eloquently put, that got most posters backs up.
Stick to you exciting brand of sterilised AwFL mate and leave the real stuff to those who can still appreciate it

What actually happened, John, was that David Burtenshaw took it upon himself as the Media / Communications / Whatever his title is at the AFC to come on here and take questions.

What I dont believe David took the time to do was to read through the 100+ pages of thoughts on this subject on the site. Sure, there were some pretty bloody minded bordering on plain stupid statements from some people but within that there were many very measured, valid and well thought out questions that quite frankly, were not answered.

As far as a PR exercise goes, this was about as poorly run as any by the AFC.
PAFC. Forever.

I agree Booney! The AFC and in particular Rob Chapman and Steven Trigg and by his condesending "dodging" answers on here, David Burtenshaw treat the SANFL supporters like we are complete morons and that we should be subservient to all that is the AFL and the AFC in this case.

It is really sad from Trigg who hails from the SANFL, is a teacher by trade and therefore allegedly educated!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

Bit harsh Booney, I'm pretty sure you'll find the AFC have adopted industry best practices for....it'll come to me...thinking...what about....nope, can't think of one thing the Crows do better than anyone else.

Especially media and PR in a two team one paper town where, as is evidenced by the current employment structure, even a trained monkey could wheel out Dangerfield or Sloane periodically as the extent of their job.
'People are not stupid. They know when they are being conned. And two reserves teams operating in a League competition will reduce it to a farce, a competition without a soul.'

But Sando said "It will help the Adelaide Football Club be the best it can be. Oh, and the SANFL will be stronger too"
