Hold the phone... found the soaking, crumpled page with 9 (yes, count them, 9) Bay supporters signatures.
To be fair... it was a miserable day & another person (Chantel - a Bay supporter) was also collecting that day :D

Would've been ten if you had the petition on you when you walked past me. The rain drove me into the grandstand shortly after.

Rounded down %'s:

39% Sturt supporters
35% Centrals supporters
22% Eagles supporters
3% Port supporters
1% Adelaide supporters

Thanks LEH for an intelligent reply. I would have thought with so many people on here so passionate about the no AFL in the SANFL someone would have known that you have X number of signatures and taken it to the commission and also to the directors of all SANFL clubs.

Like the commission care, this was their last chance to latch onto the AFL gravy train.

And didn't they do a great job of maintaining their cosy little roles?

Disgusting.

Imagine if the SANFL raised the adult ticket price to $15 next year...I'd only buy a CDFC home match season ticket so whenever we play away against someone (except South Adelaide) I'd pay for the ticket to get in with only 50c pieces......

Was flicking through Inside Football at lunchtime, and there was a story on the AFL reserves. Roy Laird was typically honest, stating that the proposed benefits are “crap”, Chapman’s 4000 prediction was “garbage”, and that the AFC and Integrity shouldn’t be used in the same sentence following Trigg’s backflip on the unanimous vote. He fears, like many, that crowds will suffer. I wonder what he thinks of the top up player debacle  Unfortunate that these sort of sentiments aren’t published in more mainstream media.

Also heard Bassett talking about the decision on the weekend. He was surprised that it got voted in and didn’t sound overly impressed, but managed to bite his tongue.

Think most coaches think the same.

It creates more problems than it solves.

Extremely thorough coverage. Great stuff. Couldn't disagree with any of it.

I don't think the SANFL can afford to go down the same path with the Power as it has with the Crows, despite the proposal put forward inviting Port along with the same conditions. While it might be a neat and tidy option on paper, reality is Port and the Crows are cut from a different cloth. I hope they sort it out before next season so we can start afresh with no AFL players in the SANFL clubs instead of having all this repeat itself in 12 months.

I would have signed it as well for same reasons...

...but 456, 459 or 4590...no difference it would have made!

Just caught 5 minutes of AA and Rowe and McDermott had Matt Suckling on. Asked him about the AFL clubs in the SANFL and his take. Having been experience with the VFL system he said he definitely would have voted No.
