Another one for Prof spell_check - does anyone still keep up to date stats for Stanley Lewis Mem Trophy. The Blueboys would have to be giving that a shake at present I'd speculate

As best I can make it Sturt are 240 behind Central ATM. If Sturt's reserves went down then they're 290 behind. Sturt, Port and North are all on about the same now I think, but the magpies have played 1 more game than Sturt, and North 1 less.

I've said it many times. When you're working this out, 90% of the time you can ignore the junior results.

1 league win is worth about 5 U17 wins.

It's a senior football result trophy only.

North won it last year, from memory. It's not just about the League side...

No, but they finished 2nd in the league and top in the reserves. Both under age teams missed the finals. Senior teams, especially the league, get so many points for a win the junior grades are like percentage: Won't get you anywhere in reality, but might act like some sort of tiebreaker.

The league points = Ressies + U19 + U17 and

Ressies = U19 + U17

so its weighted to the Senior ranks which seems to me to be reasonable.

Just to reinforce how much this is weighted towards the league, and a bit the reserves, Port won the most matches across all grades, but came 3rd in the Stan, some 450 points behind North. Can Mr Spell_Check produce a stat to show the non minor premier winners, and how far bhind the minor premiers they were? I'd ignore occurences where the teams were only separated by %.

1963 - Port, 1/2 a win behind
1965 - Norwood, 4 wins behind
1966 - North, 5
1974 - Norwood, 3
1975 - Glenelg, 1
1976 - Glenelg, 3
1979 - Port, 1 1/2
1982 - Norwood, 1 1/2
1983 - Sturt, 2
1984 - Norwood, 4
1985 - Norwood, 1/2
1986 - Norwood, 4
1987 - Norwood, 5
1989 - Port, 1
1990 - Glenelg, 1/2
1994 - Port, 3
1995 - Norwood, 1/2
1998 - Norwood, 3
2005 - North, 3

Norwood in 1996 and North in 2006 were separated from top spot by percentage.

Proves the point.

West last year finished 3rd in Reservwes, 2nd in 19's and top in 17's. the League were bottom, so you wouldn't expect a very high placing, but I think they finished way, way down.
