SANFL UMPIRE TO MAKE HISTORY

The SANFL would like to congratulate Eleni Glouftsis, who will become the first female field umpire in Australia to officiate at state league level on Sunday.
Glouftsis, 21, will be part of the field umpiring panel to take charge of the match between North Adelaide and Glenelg at Prospect Oval.
The former boundary umpire started with the North Eastern Football Metro Football Association in 2006 before progressing to SANFL ranks in 2008.

Have seen her do a couple of Ressies games at the Parade and she had far more control than the other idiots out there with her.

I have seen her umpire and think she is very good. The fact that she is a woman should not make any difference whatsoever but she will be a pioneer for other women who might have been afraid to have a go. Think there is another female umpire around as well ?

She isn't a bad umpire, very whistle happy though, doesn't like any physicality in the game. She is consistent with her calls though, and doesn't take any crap from the players. Of all the reserves umpires she is one of the ones more deserving of a league game.
