I think the Tribunal should take into account past indiscretions. E.g. a 2 wk ban for a player with a good record could become a 5 wk ban. I'm not sure even in Parry's case a life sentence is fair.

Bloody hell, holden posts without bagging Fuller or Godden. Never thought I'd see the day....anywho, whichever way you look at it, being suspended for 16 games in any manner is unacceptable. Be it 3 lots of 5 weeks and a 1 week or 8 lots of 2 weeks it is clear the person is a repeat offender.

If he has played 179 games and been suspended for 16 weeks that pretty much equates to every 11 games he gets suspended for one. (I know it doesn't work that way)

Does he deserve a life ban? I dont think so, but I dont think many of us would argue 16 collective weeks of suspensions is a good record to have and if thats the rules, thats the rules.

He should be rubbed out but maybe a life ban is harsh.
Maybe a 2 year ban or similar would be sufficient

Yep, perhaps suspended for 10-12 games in a 4 year period (cumulative across state leagues), an automatic one year suspension starting at the end of the current suspension would be adequate at state-league level IMO.
I believe it is different from amateur and country footy because a lot of incidents at those levels of the magnitude of Saturdays' don't end up at the tribunal at all.
