run outs

can someone tell me why players who effect run outs get their name in brackets on scorecards but there is no credit given as its counted as a team dismissal not an individual one? seems like a waste of time to me, or maybe its like supersub and powerplays wtf?? who cares etc.

Years ago it wasn't even on the score board. I think it is just a "public interest" type thing.

Because as Ian said its probably only for public interest, lets you know who did what. Just keeps you a little more in the game.
