Phantom Gossiper wrote:Although a disappointing conclusion to our season, we as a club can't be disappointed in our season - to field 3x sides for the entire season can be a difficult feat on it's own, but plenty of positives.
To have players begin in the C grade and force their way up to the B grade and even the A grade is reward enough as a coach.
We regularly had 20+ twice a week to train for C grade alone
After losing by 139 points in Rd 1, we managed to win 9 games - which is as more games than any season since 2007.
Previous seasons:
2008: 1 win
2009: 1 win
2010: 7 wins (C6)
2011 - 0 wins
2012 - 4 wins
Not once did we have players double up from B grade, and finished the season with almost every C grade player fully financial.
We beat 2nd place Lockleys, coughed up a 5 goal lead to lose by a point to 3rd place TOS, beat 4th place Pulteney by 10 goals earlier in the season and I thought we were very competitive against Payneham recording 2 of the 3 highest scores kicked against them and inaccurate kicking prevented a better result.
C Grade is about providing an avenue and opportunity for players to have a game on a weekend, develop their skills, include them and make them feel apart of the club and to bridge the gap to the B grade - I would say we accomplished that and had a succesfull season, and the future looks bright for 2014.

10.24 The League may impose a penalty including but not limited to a fine and/or the loss of any premiership points and/or any score kicked if any Member Club plays or has played a player in a match whom is unregistered, not transferred, suspended, is over-age (in Under 18 Divisions), plays under an incorrect name or was not eligible to play in the major round.
