Norwood had to earn that victory.

Whilst the Bays skill level was under par, their desperation at the ball couldn't be questioned.

Norwood's efficiency up forward was the difference and whilst the Bays were never going to win they never gave up.

Would have to be close to the lowest crowd on record between these 2 sides.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Glenelg did put in a solid effort a new game plan and that could send them back up in the 5 next year

Ugly win but did enough to get the job done.
Was impressed with the Bays endeavour, had a real crack all day.
Several times I thought we would break the game open only for Glenelg to find a goal or two.
Not bad skills from either sides considering the conditions
Good to have the minor premiership sewn up but will need to be better against the Dogs next week

I think its time we settled the team for finals
Newton Zorzi Baulderstone Jesse Aish or Chippers and Grigg would have to fit in somewhere I think

Hate that terminology Minor Premiership.
Norwood will finish in first place at the end of the round. There is no premiership involved !
Was very surprised by the Bays, they never chucked it in all day.
Ben Warren named Norwood's best player in his 200th game. Flipper with 5 of our 9 goals was brilliant up forward.

Chippers is highly unlikely to be in the league team this season. Spoke to his dad yesterday and they are just happy to have him back playing football. After a year on the sidelines, I would not expect him to get enough form to challenge for a spot in the ones over the next few weeks.

Cheers

League Coaches Report
In difficult conditions we witnessed a real competitive effort for the four quarters. This was the most pleasing aspect of the game considering past performances have been inconsistent. Our ability to control the speed of the game by denying Norwood's outside run with multiple stoppages and defensive pressure was pleasing. Our ability to win more ball then the opposition has been a constant issue for us. Both H Jolly (36) and J Davenport (32) found a lot of it which brought others into the game.
A real positive for us was seeing specific roles for the team adhered to. In particular Warrick McGinty on Ben Warren, who is developing and learning his craft quickly. A reminder that Warrick has a basketball background and has mainly played ruck; playing on quality experienced players will only serve Warrick well in the future. Max Proud played his role as a defensive forward to perfection while Brad Agnew negated Matthew Suckling well in the first half prior to his injury. Team spirit was the best it's been for some time, while there are some positives we remain fiercely determined to continue to get better. Some areas include our ability to play fast between the arcs and vary up our forward entries so we are less predictable to the opposition. Adjusting to the conditions by not overusing possession by hand - 1:1 ratio kick/h'ball in the conditions is simply not smart football.
We look forward to seeing all our members and supports when we take on North at Prospect this Sunday. We appreciate your ongoing support as we continue our rapid improvement in the remaining part of the year.
