Nice one Monte. I think you will find Benson has been given his marching orders. The Blackwood committee couldn't afford to lose anymore senior players of A grade standard. And believe me more were going to walk if that clown got the job again. Funny you mention they need time to find a coach when I know of at least 3 of last years applicants with AFL and SANFL experience as well as being successful coaches at local level. Either your imagination runs riot or you are mates with the ego tripping Benson.

Hasn't Benson paid for most of the recruits out of his own pocket over recent years?

Cracks good to see that the central div club we speak about has got its final to host and well done to the central club that has lent it their oval. Well done hfl as well for sharing the finals around to other clubs who through no fault of their own are disadvantaged with ovals. See wat the bigger clubs think of this.

Ironbank to host a final at Blackwood. I think its great. Finals IMO should be on a rotation basis for clubs to host, but using the best ovals/facilities as Ironbank & Blackwood have done. Hopefully this sets a precedent for the future.

Does anybody know how many weeks T. Woolford from onkas is going to be sidelined for his hit on Adam Curkpatrick last weekend? I think the tribunal was last night?

How is Blackwood's oval at the moment? Will it be destroyed after two days of finals?

From the Facebook page....

First weekend finals will be at Hahndorf and Blackwood ovals. we will not know the order until Saturday evening.

Semi finals will be Balhannah and Blackwood (hosted by Ironbank) order unknown at this stage and Blackwood oval will need to be inspected as there will be 3 weeks straight on this oval.

Prelim final will be at Callington Oval and Grand Final at Lobethal.

All ovals are subject to change due to teams in finals and weather conditions.

Just be careful getting info from the HFL facebook page as we were made aware at the last meeting the HFL don't run it & anyone can post stuff on there.

Considering the amount of rain we've had in the last couple of days, it was in really good condition this morning. Obviously would have gotten chewed up a bit today, I asked someone at the club tonight & they said it didn't end up too bad, so hopefully will be ok for next week. Blackwood do have 4 teams in the finals though so there will be some traffic on it during the week.

Having said that. I would much rather the HFL programmed both finals this weekend at Callington, one hosted by Bridgewater & one hosted by Ironbank.
We played at Blackwood on Saturday, are there again in U13's & A's this Sunday & if our A's win will have to play there again the following Sunday. Hope the ground holds up.

Predictions for the first week of finals?

Uraidla vs Lobethal @ Hahndorf on Saturday - Qualifying final.
Uraidla had wins in both encounters during the minor rounds. You would have to tip Uraidla in this one, they're a finals hardened team and with it being wet all week should suit their bigger older bodies. However don't write off Lobey that easily, they really pushed the fancied flag favourites last week in the wet and are getting some key personnel back.

Uraidla by 15 points.

Hahndorf vs Onkas @ Blackwood on Sunday - Elimination final.
Each team had a win at their home grounds against each other during the season. Hahndorf seem to be in the better form of late, defeating Uraidla and some solid wins. Onkas have had some up and down results, if they are having an up week they could blow hahndorf apart. Last week they could have clinched third spot, but failed in the big game. Will they fail this week in an elimination final?

Hahndorf by 6 points.

Ebert said on the radio last night that he wouldn't be playing SANFL next season and was looking to have a kick with mates in an amateur competition
