That rumour has come out your ass I would say.

This link details what the agreement entails. I read it as the Crows members will gain free access to games in which the Dodo's are playing. That part of it doesn't make any sense to me. Most of the other stuff in there seems someways reasonable.

RM not necessarily if you have read the 200 odd pages of posts you would of read posts from Brekky DJ who lives and breathes VFL and resides in Melbourne he states that Essendon members get free entry to their reserve home games also North Melbourne member get free entry to certain reserves games.

At a guess i would say their might be a possibility the same might happen over here so AFC can achieve the hypothetical crowd number of 4,0000

In that case the definition of "your ass" must be an SANFL press release.

Surely you wouldn't be that stupid, doing that would hurt the club you support financially more than it would hurt the Crows.

Lived in QLD for 9 years for employ and before internet had a mate put the phone next to the radio for 3 hours to listern to North.
Family member played 290 games for north
Family worked in BBQ and canteen for 20 years at prospect
Go to all non North GF to support SANFL
Last AFL game attended was about 15 years ago...No I lie, was given Pre game lunch tickets to the official lunch a couple of years ago when Modra was given life membership through a supplier to my business.
Dont like to brag, but Barrie Robran emails me some fridays about the up coming game on the WE.

Can I ask what might seem like a stupid question to some (but please humour me anyway - with legit answers from those that remember.)

For those that remember 1963/64 - was this big a stink created by others when it was announced that Centrals and Woodville were joining the league?

That's good stuff. Makes sense. Given the AFC were going to play in the SAAFL, and therefore the landscape of football in SA would change, I would have been interested to hear how South Adelaide viewed the future of the SANFL and if they had a plan that they firmly believed would ensure its longevity and success.

It's a good question/point Aerie. Had the proposal been knocked back one would hope South had a plan in place.

Yes, I read it that way too, although there is a comment "To be explored in good faith between SANFL Management, AFC and SANFL Club representatives". I'm not sure if that is referring to the entry or to the joint membership idea. Probably the latter.

Free access. Will get more people to the ground where they can purchase overpriced drinks and food, but it's another slap in the face for the SANFL die hards..

If the comp is so close to dying, as it obviously is to accept the AFL reserves teams, why was Olsen only saying a year ago that there'd be no way they'd 'compromise the integrity of the SANFL by allowing reserves teams', surely things haven't got that bad in less than twelve months have they?

Wouldn't have anything to do with Westpac being hours away, recently anyway, from calling in their $37M debt the SANFL have racked up would it?

Once again the poor mug punters who actually go to the SANFL get r**ted while waste of oxygen thieves like Phil Gallagher get to keep drinking Rockford's Basket Press in carpeted rooms overlooking Adelaide Oval whilst patting themselves on the back about what a great service they provide South Australian football.
'People are not stupid. They know when they are being conned. And two reserves teams operating in a League competition will reduce it to a farce, a competition without a soul.'

Something I've just thought of that should p!$$ clubs off the most is there will be no incentive to develope players through their junior grades only to be drafted to the crows where they could end up playing against the club that developed them to start with.
