Yep, sounds like a normal Central supporter!!

Actually sounds exactly like what the North Adelaide supporters have suggested they'd be doing.

What the dozen of you???? :

Never said it myself RM, just pointing out that it's not just a Central thing. Personally i wouldn't waste my time money or energy.

Really confused at the moment. A bit like Dutchy a few pages back, not quite sure how I'll feel till early next year.

One part of me wants to say F You Eagles and SANFL, you have betrayed me by voting yes on something without any details. This I just feel really sick about and can't comprehend. Sure, if they had a full proposal they might not have voted how I wanted, but could at least respect it and give them the benefit of the doubt that are in a better position to make decisions than me.
Another part of me feels like they need my support more than ever to help stand as strong as they can to survive into the future.

The worse thing is that whatever happens, those AFL f*wits get to say "I told you so", if the league either prospers or dies.

Not sure how many games I'll go to next year, and given that I've only been able to make 3-4 a year, perhaps not a huge loss to the powers that be. But one thing I'm pretty sure of is I won't give up my weekends to travel to Adelaide (admittedly it's only a couple hours away) to watch every final, regardless of who has been playing, like I have for the last 10 years.

Like others have said in earlier posts, the last couple years, with the Port Adelaide wankers whinging and bitching about everything (not on this site) last year, and now this, am just about drained and disillusioned.

I have an old home-made South beanie, perhaps that will get a dust-off.

That's a bit of an "I don't want to offend anyone" statement isn't it?

Maybe wait 10 years, we'll play out both scenarios and then come back in the time machine to give you a vote?

It's either a no, the SANFL is no place for an AFL Reserves team and we'll move forward independent of the AFL, or it's a yes, we'll make this work with the AFL teams.

Or it's a no, despite what AFC and AFL are saying, we don't trust you.

It is a surprise many clubs have been a bit wishy washy with this. Does that show a lack of knowledge of football and footballers in the current age or a lack of vision? A lack of digging to find the real answers?

What exact information did the CDFC want?

One simple question that I think will really swing my feelings was posted by Aerie (and not answered by David  ) on the Q&A thread.
If a Crows player comes back from injury and they only want him to play a half, will he play SANFL league for the Crows or 2's with another AFL club?
If it's the former, the whole show can get f*cked.

I'm coming from the opposite end to most on this thread. I haven't been a member of Sturt since I was about 10, but will be supporting them next year by buying a membership & going to some games. Since the zones changed last year & we are now in Sturts zone they have been fantastic in helping Onkas & now my 12yr old son is training with them I plan to support them as much as possible. I will support them over the Crows reserves side in the SANFL, but then will support the Crows in the AFL. No big dilemmas for me on who I support.

I think this is the key in answering the question areaman and others have had. It is the community involvement, together with past ties to an SANFL club that once everyone had a link to, and most probably still would, that would appeal to people to follow them as opposed to the Crows SANFL team. If you live in the area, most people know someone that would be pulling on the SANFL jumper throughout the grades and take a warming to that team. It is then up to the SANFL club to capitalise on this. Every club needs a PhilH to make sure the support is there in the future.

A lot of the questions in here were a good start. How many things are now to be worked out? All of those should have been worked out prior to the vote, not after.

The Rebel 8 clubs' members need to stay together now.
Let's face it, with no media backing, no figurehead to lead the fight against and no club having any growth possibilities in members and finance, the outcome was a given as most clubs' boards are full of Crow/Cancer heads
Them not having to follow their clubs wishes when considering a proposal to vote on is all you needed to know that this was always going to end in the shitehouzen for us SANFL diehards.

I thought of a good analogy yesterday which I should have publicised a few weeks ago. Some obvious differences but still...

In the supermarket world Coles and Woolworths are the dominant players in SA but Foodland also have a significant market share and loyal customer base.

Someone at Coles came up with an idea to ask Foodland to stock their shelves with Coles home brand products, as this will help promote Coles and grow their market share.
Woolworths of course follow suit as they don't want to miss out either.

Foodland customers are outraged as the reason why they shop at Foodland is because they don't have all the generic stuff
The Foodland directors are pressured to say yes because
- they have become addicted to the 4c petrol vouchers that Coles and Woolworths directors slip them under the table at the end of their meetings
- Coles and Woolworths keep trying to convince them that these products are very profitable (despite being the lowest quality stuff they sell)
- there are rumours that Coles and Woolworths will use their vast influence to restrict Foodland's advertising opportunities if they say no, and they will place conditions such as every Foodland catalogue must contain at least 20% Coles and Woolworths home brand material
John Olsen, June 2012 wrote:"Reserves teams in the SANFL for the two AFL clubs is not negotiable.
We will not compromise the SANFL competition (with AFL reserves teams)."

And the possibility of a future place on the Coles/Woolies board, which they will never be given if they stand their ground...............

SANFL clubs are member based
Managment acts on behalf of the members - not the 'interests of SA football'. How many club's members supported reserves teams in the SANFL?

It seems six maverick boards & CEOs need to go

The 8 Directors are obliged to vote on what they believe is in the best interests of football in South Australia (i.e. not their clubs own self interest and not the AFL self interest).

I was walking down rundle mall and people were looking dazed and confused. I asked one of them and she said it was due to the CROWS reserve side entering the SANFL ....... what are we going to do now she cried .... and then in a puff of smoke she imploded.

how many more people are going to implode before this madness stops 8)

Reckon you're going to implode under the weight of your own self importance and raging superiority complex.
