20 years plus as a member but not this year.

My friends couldn't do it, though some decided not to donate money towards the debt demolition, they remained members.

It's hard. You don't feel good sticking to a principle.

I agree. I've set my rules to the footy gods on how this goes down and where my money and time goes.

I will save some $$$ on membership next year too! Thankfuly I can get some free tickets now the club will get 50K to replace its membership.

Wont attend any Crows or Power reserves games that west play - Might only go to the 8 home games - It would have to be a very nice day and nothing better to do next year now for me to attend an away game.

Now we are giving top-up players league games when they wouldnt make it on their merits for a real sanfl game. - This is integrity???

Comments like we might have to make their team stronger if its too weak - I didnt see anyone doing that for my club with its 4 wooden spoons nor anyone helping GFC so they will avoid a double next year - WTF?

Might consider running for the board as well next year

Any business that has a real-life paying customer (let alone a lifelong diehard supporter) in front of them, and instead of bending over backwards to do everything to keep their business, lectures them on how it will be their own fault if they take their business elsewhere, deserves exactly where it will end up.

If my maths is right - each club will get 11 home games but only 7 of these won't involve AFL reserves teams.

Yep thats really the icing on the cake isnt it.

What happens if say Sturt finish 10th and Crows 9th will we still give the Crows more concession to become stronger and leave Sturt stranded.

What a ******* joke

Exactly
The cows should get no assistance at all.
Ideally they should get a very minimal cap.
I want to see them beaten by 20+ goals every week and totally uncompetitive.
The SANFL clubs should be doing their best to make this happen
I really hope no club lets them have top up players

Is it true one of the North board members really used the example of Miles playing on Lewis Johnston next year as way interest may grow in the SANFL.

If so that bloke has his head in the sand. Although as a South supporter this doesn't affect me at the moment, I'd hate to be a Westies supporter when Porplyzia kicks 5 against you next season for example. Uncompromised league? BS.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the biggest gripes i have is players we have spent x amount of years developing x amount of dollars in transfer fees could then be taking off us at a drop of a name and used against us for premiership points etc

I would love to see a player like Callinan refuse to play against the Dogs if he was still on their list, dont know if any players would have the guts to do that though.

The problem is whilst players like Johnston originated from SANFL Clubs, they are "owned" by the AFL Teams who pay them. North received transfer money when he was drafted by the Swans and when he made his AFL debut. The bonus of SA AFL listed players is that we the SANFL Clubs up to this year get them for free when they have to play at the lower level.

Miles vs. Johnston if it happens will be an intriguing match up regardless of the fact it will piss me off to see a North developed player in a game against North.

it's going to make me further sick when the ravens or whatever they're called will be playing magpies in SANFL and a year later power reserves.
i highlighted this tonight, saying that will be more relevant to the media than the same round game as say a north v centrals.
all i got was "respect your point"
still stunned it's come to this.

How the new broadcaster divvies up the supposed schedule moving forward will be interesting? It will surprise me if the game of the week doesn't feature one of the AFL Ressies teams each week. That is despite our President / CEO saying that they will pick the best match and that does not have to be an AFL Ressies team included.

Also was mentioned tonight that the ABC is still interested in continuing to broadcast games 2014 and beyond. Couldn't see both 7mate and ABC covering a game each but then again if the Power Ressies come in they could each cover a game featuring an AFL Team every week!

If the Reserves are voted in I have changed my tune from before last week. I see it simply as 10 teams battling out week to week, 8 of them SANFL clubs, 2 of them AFL Reserves teams. There is no point in pretending all is fair. You could probably pick out reasons why it never has been a fair competition going back to 1877. See it for what it is and make sure the rules and all the players are all laid out before the season starts and you play from there with what you've got.

I don't see how going along to Woodville Oval to watch the Eagles will change too much for me. Certainly not as much of a change as 1991. I'll still see the best junior footballers we have for a half season or so before they go off to the AFL (Toumpas, Dunstan, Polec, Smith etc.). I'll still see the best juniors that are unlucky not to get picked on AFL lists play for the club they grew up with (Rowntree, Goldsworthy, Cicolella etc.). I'll still see some recruits come across and write their name down in the history books of the club (McKenzie, Powell, Passador etc.). I'll still stand there with a beer with my old man, kids, mates and opposition supporters watching what still will be the best semi-professional competition in the country with 8 clubs with links back to not only last century but the century before, under no AFL influence. Those that follow the Crows just won't get it. If I have a son who has a lot more talent than me, I might be lucky enough to see him get the best chance of a career in football, either with an SANFL club or AFL club because the systems that have been put in place for junior footballers have been good ones.

If you don't think the players you are going to watch aren't still going to be spewing up in the pre-season, getting soaking wet on a freezing weeknight at training under average lighting, putting their bodies on the line deep into a game, jumping high to take a screamer on the shoulders or leaving the field on a stretcher then go and watch A-League, Ammos or whatever.

A lot jumped ship in 1991. They are not looked at too fondly by those who still love the SANFL. The SANFL clubs who are still the same SANFL clubs from 1991 (minus Port Adelaide in their original form, their choice) still need our support and still serve the same purpose of producing players to be the best they can be and winning SANFL premierships with what they have available to them.

I am undecided. Must say this whole issue has taken away alot of my enthusiasm for SANFL.

I can see why the clubs are agreeing to a point and I do believe that they are voting in the interests of what they believe is best for all clubs and the comp. Whether it is right and more to the point will it work and help the SANFL for the future is the one question no one can answer until it happens and is given a chance to sink or swim over at least 2 seasons?

I still stand by my choice to boycott the SANFL if the reserves come in and i respect your decision to continue on as normal.

The sad part is..........................that you have made more sense and gave a more balanced view/argument than the wankers from the Crows have ever proposed, mentioned, articulated etc etc.

Serious Question, genuinely interested to hear your opinion at what point would you say enough is enough, when would the league cross the line for you.
