With Australia's score of 5-368, it ranks...

# Australia's highest ever total
# Highest total in Australia
# 7th highest total in ODI history
# 3rd highest total against Sri Lanka

Never has a team scored more than 350 after losing three wickets for less than 175 runs (let alone 10).

Muralitharan was carted for 0-99 from 10 overs - 23 runs more expensive than his next closest expensive innings.

Australia scored 1-63 off their final four overs, and 1-132 off their final 58 balls.

Aus posted a pretty good score:

5/368 (50)

Symonds 151 from 127 balls
Ponting 124 from 127 balls
Clarke 54* from 28 balls
Hussey 23* from 8 balls

Murili went for 99 of his 10 overs. Good recovery after being 3/10.

This stuff was from spell check in the other 2nd final thread. I just combined it into one.

And guess what? Hussey was not out - again!

* 99 is the most runs conceded off of ten overs.
* 151 is the highest score by a batsman at the SCG.
* 133 runs were scored off the last 10 overs.
* 237 is an Australian record for the 4th wicket.
* Australia this summer have bettered their 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th partnership records.
* 368 is a record on an Australian ground.
* 7th highest score in ODI history - thanks to Silky on that one.

Call me cynical, lucky Australia invented ways to get out in first one dayer, if the had played up to norm then would only be a two match finals which would lost a lot of $$$$$$$$

If it wasn't for Chaminda Vaas, we would've been 0/368!

Well Vaas did us a favour getting rid of Katich and Martyn. I dont think we would of ever scored 368 with them batting for more than 5 minutes..

What do we win, anyway? Is it just me, or is this GF "feeling" conjured to make it feel like the life or death of Australian cricket rides on the result of game 3? Surely it wouldn't affect our ranking, there was daylight between us & the Sri Lankans/South Africans. I find myself less interested in 1 day cricket more & more. The World Cup interests me, but otherwise give me the Tests.

Seriously, roll on March with the tests against Seth Efrica on the veldt....

Thank god for Austar.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

You owe me one bull5hit dectector as mine just broke after reading that carp. Australia normally do win in two so how do they lose money if they did again this year??? Is it really that hard for you to give the opposition just a little bit of credit? Have you learnt nothing from the Ashes series mon ami??

regards,

REB
