Hogg Division II looks like the closest in the comp with very little separating the promotion teams from those threatened with relegation. Apart from two non competitive teams and the struggling Bloods. There are 15 sides that would be worthy of playing in Division I next season. One of these 15 sides is going to be relegated! The SCLSU Mud Dogs had an impressive victory over The Brown Boys in a result that appears to have all but sealed the minor premiership. Ecky's Fevolas have cashed in on the bye to smash winless Pidge and he looks to have snaffled the all important double chance. Remember lads you need to make the Grand Final here to go up.

There were some nailbiters in this week's matches that could determine who plays in the finals or not. Delicious snuck over the line by five points over FISH to keep his season alive and Jim's TigerRoos broke a losing streak with an important win 20 point win over Moneybrawl in what was a virtual elimination final. In the relegation battle Crab Mustard posted another top score (seriously what is he doing in 15th?) to smash Toolman who has lost that winning feeling lately. Professor Crow is another side who is one of the top scorers of the league but he's in the you know what after dropping to 7-9 after copping a hiding from Destiny's Uncles who were back in form with a vengeance. Cub's recent hot streak came to an end probably a week too soon as they were flogged by BABB. For all FOOTYLEDENS efforts in recent rounds, they are once again in the gun for relegation. Should be a fascinating round of fantasy footy in this league next week.

Looks like I won't get relegated after all. A lucky break sees Backyarders and Footyledgens playing against each other so I'll jump ahead of the loser of that game as I'm playing non show Falrak the doob

Nice one LMA.

Looks like I'm gonna get rolled by the Toolman and may be knocked out of the top eight depending on the results of other matches. :(

Any of the teams from 1 - 8 are good enough to win it.
I am lucky I am playing against Pidgeons so my % will get a boost and just need someone in the top 8 to lose!
There are going to be some close finishes this week.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

Am predicting that Moneybrawl will displace destiny's uncles from the eight, and TEAM_FISH will hang on in the eight with a slightly better percentage than Delicious...

Hope I'm right! [-o<

Ecky's Fevolas have come from a fair way back to claim the Minor Round and pole position heading into what shapes as a very even finals series. The Mud Dogs lost top spot after losing to the Fevolas and now they have to turn it around against Toolman if they hope to progress to the Division II Grand Final and promotion. There were a few hard luck stories in this Division this week with destiny's uncles crashing out of the top eight after suffering a heavy defeat to Hips Don't Lie. Delicious missed out on the finals by a bees dick as TEAM_FISH hung on to make the finals.

However, none of these blokes can really whinge when you consider the plight of the unluckiest bloke in the entire Hogg. Seven wins from seventeen games, a percentage of 101.13 and the third highest scoring team and Professor Crow has been relegated (teams in red). If the Professor can play as well again next season he'll be back in in Division II again soon but SCD must be a shattered man tonight!

Bugger me. Did not see that happening, had a lovely afternoon at Alberton and got home to see that Mary Mackillop had performed another miracle.

Nice one Dogmatic. I got up by 67 points largely thanks to loopholing Joel Selwood as Captain. :D

Hogg Division II Finals Week One

1st Qualifying Final
Ecky's Fevolas 2243
Jims TigerRoos 2133

2nd Qualifying Final
SCLSU Mud Dogs 2329
Toolman 2182

1st Elimination Final
TEAM_FISH 2310
Brown Boys 2243

2nd Elimination Final
Moneybrawl 2175
BABB 2120

Ecky's Fevolas and SCLSU Mud Dogs are one win away from earning promotion to Hogg Divison I after winning their qualifying finals this weekend. The Mud Dogs hit back strongly after copping a pantsing from Eckys the week before and Ecky's Fevolas comfortably accounted for the TigerRoos to emerge as the premiership favourites with just a few games to go.

In the knockout games Moneybrawl and Big Al had a classic contest with both coaches moving the magnets around something shocking. FISH meanwhile did some fancy footwork of their own to defeat Brown Boys who will feel a bit cheated after he checks the low scoring nature of the other elimination final. So it's the Mud Dogs and Eckys in the box seat for the Grand Final with four other sides having it all to do next week to earn a crack at them.

To be honest REB I did nothing this week. I was going to when I got home from golf but knocked the froth off a couple and couldn't be bothered so I just let it ride.
Live to play another day.

Yeah I'm glad I got it right for once - usually it costs me points when I pull the VC loophole trigger. #-o

I also had the luxury of reaping Terlichs 97 as my DEF emergency by substituting in Ibbotsons donut prior to the Freo game.

Not sure if I'll have the same luck this week...
