Looks like rd 18 could be a cracker - so many opportunities for broken dreams. By 5pm Saturday all will be known and revealed. Who wants it most?

D3R QF: Athelstone v Pembroke OS - Unley Oval

D3 EF: PNU v Pembroke OS - Payneham Oval

Disappointing way for us to finish our season, up by 15 points midway through the last quarter against Athelstone, missed a couple of crucial chances and watched them kick the last five goals in 12 minutes to lose. Not the way we wanted to send a few blokes into retirement.

Congratulations to Pembroke, felt they deserved the fifth spot in the five, with due respect to Iggies and Unley.

Good luck to the five that are left, think there is still a big gap between the top two and the rest and Seaton and Scotch OC will still fight it out in the GF.

looks like all the big guns had days out on the weekend, should be an interesting team of the year for the forwards, hard to fit everyone in Loechel, White, Pedler, Evans, Jolly, Willment, Cahill's * 2 and Wark!

We heard him getting a bit of niggle, didn't realise what was being said until after the game. Was just a couple of PNU blokes, fair to say most would be above that shit, pretty douchey stuff.

Jolly was excellent! PNU on Sat were probably the best opposition we played this yr imo.

TAKING A MARK FOR EASTERN PARK FOOTBALL CLUB

The Rudd Labor Government today announced that if re-elected it would contribute $200,000 in funding towards upgrading facilities at the Eastern Park Football Club.
Minister for Sport, Senator Don Farrell, was joined by the Labor Member for Wakefield, Nick Champion MP, to announce Labor’s commitment to help rejuvenate the growing sporting club at Elizabeth Park in Adelaide’s north.
Funding would go to extending the club house and verandah, building new toilets and improving kitchen and clubroom facilities.
Minister Farrell said Nick Champion had lobbied hard to secure the funding for the 500-member club, to help expand its space and amenities.
The Labor Member for Wakefield, Nick Champion, said the club was in dire need of new facilities to cater for its huge year-round sporting program.
“In recent years, it’s become clear that the growing community at Eastern Park Football Club has outgrown the current facilities,” Mr Champion said.
“Labor’s support will mean the club can expand its clubrooms so that more than one team at a time can participate in award presentations and provide extra sheltered space for spectators and volunteers.”
Eastern Park Football Club President Bill Wells welcomed the funding announcement.
“We’re stoked with what Nick has done for us,” he said.
“We’ve worked hard for years to promote the club, which we believe has the most teams in the North Eastern Metropolitan Junior Football Association of any club in the Playford area.
“A bigger club room will allow more people to come and enjoy their child’s sport or their own sport in comfortable surroundings.”
This commitment would be delivered through the Government’s Sporting Communities initiative that is already included in the budget.

Wouldn't be by any chance vote buying with his seat under threat as per the Sunday Mail today.
Why wasn't an upgrade done before now or is Kevin "I'm a Big Fat Dud" Rudd trying to buy votes.
