living in a group of townhouses, and the next door neighbour sets his alarm for 4am. This is so loud I can hear it through the walls. He lets it play for about 2-3 minutes before he gets up and turns it off .This then wakes me up. I feel like yelling out to him to turn that f...... alarm off!!

Do I knock on his door tonight and ask for him to turn it down or even better turn it off within 30 seconds at least?

Who in their right mind leaves their alarm on for 2-3 minutes?? What a d!ck. I'd like to think most people reach for the off button and turn it off/press snooze immediately, especially at that time of the morning!

yesterday the alarm on my phone went off and I knocked it off the bedside table and it landed in between my matress and my bed.
it was in the worst spot, and my bed is a lift up mattress type for storage underneath

so I had to try and get it without annoying my missus too much, which was too late already.

finally got it and turned it off

the end

I have a horrendous sounding alarm that goes off at 6:20, I shut that down, my phone alarm goes off at 6:25, I snooze that, then my TV comes on at 6:30 so I listen to that until my snooze on the phone goes off again at 6:35.
Sometimes I get up on the 2nd one and sometimes I let it go again, depends on how many beers I had the night before and if I can be bothered hauling my arse into work any earlier than I need to.

When I have to get up early I set two alarms, one at the bedside and another, set 10 minutes later, across the other side of the room.
I'm usually awake enough by the second to lurch across the room and turn it off promptly.

When I am not doing anything early I just set the clock radio on ABC 891 to come on about 7.30am or so - quietly, so that I come to gradually. ;)

Me too. Sometimes I wake up before my alarm goes off (e.g. within 45 minutes), and just get up then. I hate going back to sleep knowing I'll have to get up shortly anyways.

Me too mate. My wife woke me up about 20 minutes ago (half an hour before my alarm was due to go off), because she's stoked about going to the footy today.

I hate waking up with an hour before I get up - because subconsciously im scared I would sleep in or my alarm wont go off

Anything beyond 20 minutes before the alarm and I will try to at least snooze a bit knowing full well that I probably won't get any more decent sleep.

My alarm clock is on the other side of the room so when it goes off I have to get up. I may sit back on the edge of the bed for a few minutes and mutter a few expletives but after my feet hit the floor that's it. Next stop is the shower within 5 minutes of the alarm.

Tried having an older alarm clock set to play music but always just absorbed it into whatever I was dreaming and slept through the alarm. Need a loud buzzer or I keep on dreaming.
