Encounter Bay to play Willunga, Bays to win, with Langhorne Creek the team who could throw a spanner in the works. Strath go ok but I don't think they have enough depth with their Reserves sitting 8th. The top 4 are a fair bit ahead of the rest from what I've seen.

Finals locations are interesting, 2nd Semi at EB other than that, I'm not sure anyone, that's a seriously contender, is going to get a home final
Have seen Bays, Creeks, Willunga, McLaren and Yank in the past fortnight and haven't seen Strath.
I have NFI, but I'd wager Bays v Creeks
If Willunga get through, then they get the home GF.
Like last year, I reckon its going to be a cracking series.

Bays are almost certain to play off in the GF.
Not too many times does the minor premier miss the GF under the Final 5 system.
Who plays them ?
Plenty of twists and turns all season so far in teams performances and would be surprised if there isnt a few more surprises b4 the season is out. Creeks are the form side of the comp over the last 8 weeks only losing narrowly to Willunga and on current form would be worthy Grand Finalists BUT they are no certainties to finish with the double chance yet and just 1 slip up in their remaining 4 games could be very costly to their chances.
Willunga are the other obvious contender but their form has been patchy recently and seem to struggle against Strath in recent times and although they have the measure of the Creeks in recent years in minor rounds, it's the opposite story in Finals for them.
Strath are hard to rate as a genuine flag contender despite sitting in 3rd spot and beating Willunga both times. Have had a lot of narrow wins as their % of under 50 indicates.

As we have seen with ALL teams this season, Injuries have had a signifigant impact on their performances during the season and clearly any side that doesn't have close to their full team on the park during the finals series are gonna struggle.

For mine it will be Willunga vs. Creeks GF, with Creeks winning narrowly. Seem to be hitting their straps at the right time.
Enc Bay finals inexperience of the bottom 5 or so players may go against them at the pointy end. I will have a better gauge Sat night after we play them..

You would think Willunga's motivation would be a home grand final. :)

I think every Club YM would love to win a GF on their home turf ( Yank are proof of that last season )
However I think EB and Strath maybe the two that will play off , with Strath getting the prize.
One thing that will interesting on GF day, is will all the Clubs involved take their own BBQ's and drinks to the game as Willunga do everywhere else ???

I think everyone is being very diplomatic by tipping other teams. I think everyone (behind closed doors) is confident that they can beat anyone on their day.

That's a positive way of looking at it 'lf' will be interesting to hear your thoughts after you play the creek$ today. I hope for your boys sake you get over them & strath can beat victor for the door to open up for you lads to get in the five. Noticing a few posters expecting the bays to slip up come finals time, if perrie or welsh get injured it will be tough for the bays despite the home final they get. A few important games this week again could we see a few upsets today?

I think Goolwa will get a footy lesson today, as Langhorne Ck are just starting to prepare for finals, and today will be used to start to make all clubs aware. Goolwa have been better this year than they have in the past, but still have players playing at A Grade level which should clearly be in the B Grade if they are ever to prove a genuine finals contender( Depth ) is their problem.
Willunga also just starting to flex their muscles . For me Willunga / Langhorne Ck GF.

Exactly what happened. Footy lesson for us. Biggest losing margin of the year. I don't think we can compete with 6 or 7 out. No depth Lally, mcgregor and Kellock on fire

152 point turnaround from Rd 6  Injuries / players missing certainly do play a huge part in footy at all levels.

Strath cling onto 3rd spot for another week or 2 after winning yet another close one today.
Creeks are in the same position as they were last year with 6 losses when they grabbed 3rd spot in the last round or 2 from E.Bay and now just have to keep on winning and wait for Strath to slip up, Rd 18 clash Strath v E.Bay is their best chance.

Saw the demons teach mt compass a lesson today and all I can say is mt compass look a very very average side when missing a couple of top tier players. I agree with the point above that enc bay are a great side WHEN they have their best side on the park but with outs like Wilson and welsh etc at times in the past month or so I believe the end of year result will be decided by whether or not enc bay can field a team with all of their stars on the park
Without welsh or perrie enc bay will not win this years premiership

- and also I left the dogs v demons game at 3qtr time in hope of catching the last quarter of mudlarks v eagles, and lets just say games would be better played in the neighbouring paddock than on myponga oval. I don't know how the conditions of the oval would be fixed in the future but it seems it really hasn't improved at all over the past seasons, especially in the latter rounds. sloshy mud 5-8" deep across 75-85% of the oval

That's why they are called the 'MUDLARKS' hahaha. One of the worst ovals I have seen in winter, but an asset to them. :D
