So... :D

if the league opted for 9 teams per div (excluding div 1) this is what Div 7 would look like (with C-Grades playing elsewhere)

Mawson Lakes
Central United
Mitchell park
Ingle Farm
Houghton
Smithfield
Angle Vale
Flinders Uni
North Pines

what an awesome looking comp aye :)

Flinders Uni and Mitchell Park would need to find a bus company for a major sponsor with all that travel.

That would be a major kick in the guts for the sides that have worked hard to get out of div 7 and then find themselves once again in that division, and on the flip side the clubs that have worked to avoid relegation are in 7 anyway :(

If Henley dont want to compete in and A grade comp, either nominate 1 C grade team or ask to nominate 2x C grade teams i.e C1 C3

i dunno what henley wants to do PG, for all i know the sharks could bolster its cattle next season and pump div 7 once again, so who cares

this new example of div 7 highlights..

# a 9 team division for every div from div 2 down
# 2 byes and rests for players/volunteers each year
# seperates the AGrades from the C-Grades

Now u might wanna piss on me, but i can tell u that the gods are watching my blueprints, and not everyone like yourself disagrees with me.

How detrimental will such a comp be to the very bottom clubs in D7? No respite from floggings. For example, at least North Pines have been able to be competitive against the C/D grades and therefore provide motivation during the year.

Also, I'm fairly certain that Adelaide Uni would want their C/D grades in D6/7. Therefore no byes in D2, byes in grades below.

Two byes plus queens birthday is just too many weeks without games of footy! I know at my club in div 6 the weeks we had the bye the numbers at training were horrible and caused bad habits amongst the playing group. Plus you'll have teams who'll have byes before or after the break that'll have two weeks off footy and no player signs up for that!! And then you've got the issue of who had the bye before the finals. Leave it alone, it's a crap thought. Hopefully it never gets brought in.

It's not that I disagree with you entirely, I do think that at least 7 and 8 need to be looked at and the situation with the C/D grade sides needs some sort of attention but i'm not sure your proposal is the right answer.

p.s personally I dont give a damn anyway, i'll play where ever against who ever, i just like being difficult

p.p.s dont these clubs nominate C/D grade sides for these divisions? It's not like the league is saying "Henley you MUST field a C and D grade side this season in div 7.."

Can I ask why we would want to come back down to Div 7 voluntary when we've worked so hard to get out?

And why would the 2 teams who end up going up from 7 this year want to stay there again. I Think Marbles idea is flawed as this will happen through all grades, where a team will be told to stay down after working hard all year to get promotion. Can't see how it would work. Maybe because it doesn't effect Henley in division 1 then it doesn't matter. 2 down and 1 up from every grade, you would want to tell clubs that maybe at the start of the year.

This ain't a 7 team country league we're talking about mate. Compare apples with apples. If anything I'd rather top up div 5 & 6 to 12 team comps just to keep the bye out!!!

I'm saying that players and volunteers appreciate having 2-3 weekends off football during the season.
