Will any Glenelg listed player actually poll a vote up to the end of Round 16? I think early on when Glenelg won 3 of their first 5, the standouts were their AFL listed players and since they have all dropped out the Bays losing streak began?

Lack of wins at Sturt might hurt but think he has been BOG in a few of their wins and is a flashy type player

I think Sammy Gray would be at the top of Port's vote getters along with Johncock (in the few games he kicked 4 or more) and Corey Beard would have some votes, takes alot of marks so he is in and around the umpries vision alot.

If, and it's a big If, if the umpires were watching the game Pitt should get votes in rd 1 and Davenport in Rd 4 against Centrals. Along with Lynch rd 1, Mckernan should get votes inRd 5. Lyons and Logan will get some early votes too.

Hender (rd 7 v West), Bradley and McInerney might pinch some votes up to round 16 as well, IMO.

But yes overall we wont get many votes this year.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Have you been snooping on Snouts again ;)
Ecky a couple weeks ago wrote:I reckon there is also a realistic chance we will go through the season with zero Magarey Medal votes to non-AFL listed Glenelg players.

R1 Pitt only real chance to get votes ahead of one of Lyons, Logan Lynch
R3 narrow loss to Port - Lyons, Logan Hitchcock our 3 best
R4 win vs Centrals is our best chance with Hender and Davenport a chance to at least get a vote, but Lyons and Hitchcock also up there.
R5 vs Sturt most likely McKernan, Lyons and then Logan or Hitchcock.

Since then we haven't deserved a thought from the umpires.

Lol - didn't see that on the SL Forum. I had a discussion over coffee with a former Glenelg Assistant Coach on Sunday about the Bays poor form and he actually raised the question with me which prompted my post this morning. Maybe he reads the SL forum? :D

Matt Suckling should be miles in front but maybe not flashy enough for umpires who like the pretty boy receiver types.

Doubt it 'DOC'.
Even when he gets a broken jaw going in for a hard ball, he doesn't rate a free kick.

Sam Gray would have got another 2 or 3 votes on Saturday in my view.

dude, he was running at a player, who had the ball, who was running away from him. That's not going in for the hard ball, that's eating someone's dust.

If James Aish played all year they wouldn't need to worry about the vote..
