Abusing an umpire is abusing an umpire isnt it? 4 games seems to be the standard (this year) so 8 seems excessive

I seen some of the great umpire abuse during one of our games and that bloke only got 1 or 2 weeks from memory, 8 seems very excessive

I smell a massive stitch up.

Some umpires need a reality check and realize the game is not about them. The best umpires are the ones as a supporter/player you dont really notice.

At the end of the game all the players shook hands and then the oddest thing occurred.... One of the haven players sneezed and a wood vile sth player refused to shake his hand. I was gob smacked. 2 sides shared sweat, blood, mud, body odor, spit and bad breath for 4 quarters... Yet it's unhygienic to shake hands with a bloke that's sneezed! WOW! What a blouse! He was there full back. Eat some concrete bud! Rest of the lads were great

Lucky for haven that the umpires were on their side or woody south would have won easily!!

I don't believe the umpiring impacted the result. Give a side a 5 goal head start and you are always going to battle.

Cant say to many positives about Trinity B Grades umpire. Definitely has a "Respect my Authority" attitude. Didnt have any impact on the game but his comment to an Elizabeth player Im going to pay a free kick everytime you go near the ball is as close to cheating as you will get. Then calling a player a dirty prick when nothing dirty happened during the game are comments that shouldnt be said from any umpire towards a player. YES i agree no player should verbally abuse an umpire but surely it works the other way around where umpires that abuse players should also not be tolerated!

Also well done on Trinity A Grades win yesterday. Their younger players had a lot of run and linked up well with some very get plays yesterday.

SUNS I totally and utterly agree. The trinity umpire is an absolute spastic! Power hungry little dwarf who wished he could play the game.

Speaking of umpires, West Croyden B grade umpire was absoluely fantastic yesterday. Umpired the game as he saw it, no cheating whatsoever. Wasn't their normal umpire but would certainly be a better fit for the future

Exactly right. Time the SAAFL got rid of umpires like this. What he did yesterday was a total disgrace. Even heard some of the Trinity players apologize for the umpires actions. That in itself should show cause to just get rid of him from the umpiring ranks.

Seems Elizabeth getting a fairly rough trot of late. When we played em... No complaints at all in the 2's. they played good hard footy and no sniping off the ball.

Sometimes you get what you deserve from umpires.
Sometimes you just have to shut your mouth and play.
Sometimes you have to play above the stereotype that people expect of you.
Sometimes, though, umpires need to shut their mouths and umpire.

Well played by Trinity on Saturday, two good games. Our B grade had to fight hard all day for the win.
Our A grade were beaten by a side hungry to make an impact.

Congrats to Adrian Siciliano (Trinity) and Callum Partridge (Elizabeth) on being winners of the inaugural Dave Rogers Medal, awarded to the best player on the EFC's past players day.

Yeah reasonably tough round with two rounds to go, I think Trinity should account for AL at home and Elizabeth should beat WC, if they don't then they could lose third spot. Positions 3 to 7 are still up for grabs, it will come right down to the wire. Para Hills tomorrow will be a tough game for us.

Fifth spot up for grabs, will it be trinity, haven or glenunga. Might come down to who wants finals more. Should make for an awesome finish to the minor round.

Anyone care to share thoughts about who will win Div 5 medal or who in your team would be best chance?

Being the top three I think a bloke from Woodville South, Kenilworth or Elizabeth will win it, maybe Hosie from WS, Moser, Chesser and possibly Blyth with 72 goals for the season so far to jag a few votes from Kenilworth and Taylor from Elizabeth. Spurr from TOS, Ty Allen from AL and Mclean from the Roys might jag a few votes too. I'm not too familiar with the names of blokes from Para Hills but maybe a few blokes from there are a chance aswell.

For us I think RJ Summerton will get the most votes followed by Ant Laurencic and R Duerden.

So just those 11 blokes, plus a few from Para Hills bud?

I reckon Jonesy might get a few for us, but not enough wins for anyone from Haven to win it unfortunately.

They're just blokes I thought of who may get votes, not necessarily win it.
